Chapter 25
- Sadie’s breath caught sharp when Beau’s mouth slammed down on hers — the heat of him, the rough scrape of stubble burning her skin where his thumbs braced her jaw like she might disappear if he didn’t hold her still. Her back hit the old flour shelf hard enough the top bag tumbled sideways, dust puffin’ soft around them like smoke in a storm.
- For half a heartbeat she let him have her — let him drag every lie he’d never meant to tell out of her mouth with his tongue. Let him taste the soft, sweet edge of the moan she’d sworn she’d never give him again.
- When he pulled back, voice cracked open and raw — I don’t want any woman’s mouth but yours — she almost broke right there.
