- Sadie’s breath hitched when Beau tugged her braid again — that sharp, rough pull he meant to push her back but only reeled her closer. The cold water sloshed soft around her thighs where they bracketed his hips under the surface. Her soft belly pressed tight to the hard line of his stomach, that tiny glint of her belly ring flickering between them like it was mocking him for every rule he’d ever sworn he wouldn’t break.
- She was laughing — breathless, wicked — mouth brushing the corner of his jaw, eyes wide and dark like she knew exactly what he wanted to do and was daring him to do it.
- “You don’t know when to quit, do you?” he growled, voice cracked open and ragged.
