Chapter 117 The Visit

• Sebastian breathes in deep before he knocks. Celine answers the door with a faint smile. ‘Hey Baz, it’s nice to see you here. She came in yesterday outraged that you would dare such a thing. I vote for you, but I’m not sure she’s ready. There are too many changes in her life right now. Even I would get overwhelmed. If it makes you feel better, she’s been miserable the whole day, and it seems like you didn’t get too much sleep either.’ Clara told her sister what happened, minus all her insecurities, but Celine saw through all her carefully built-up walls.
• Clara was sprawled on the bed, staring into space, oblivious to the conversation happening right behind her. She was thinking how awful she was to reject Sebastian the way she did, and now he probably doesn’t want to be with her, ever. The answer to his question was yes, but not right now, if that made sense. Why was it so difficult for her to express herself and her fears when she needed to? All she had to do was tell him to wait, and she knew he would do it for her, but the fear of being rejected made her hold back.
• ‘Hey babe,’ Baz said as he sat on the bed, right beside her. He’s run out of ideas, he sent her flowers, a card, a long handwritten love letter, but there was no answer. No text messages, no acknowledgment that she received any of his offerings, it was as if she never received anything.
