• After the disastrous proposal, Clara decided they should take time away from each other. And since Jeremy was staying with Sebastian, she had nowhere to escape to but her parent’s house. It was safer to stay at their house than at a hotel, and this delighted her parents. The need to get away from Baz for the next few days and avoid having “the conversation” was greater than her need to make up with him and set everything straight.
