- Above the cliffside, the moon was faint and narrow, its light dripping like icy silver across the ragged rocks. The subtle buzz of magic in the air blended with the thunder of the waves as they crashed against the base of the cliffs far below.
- With the faint etchings beneath her boots shimmering with strands of deep red light, Evana stood in the middle of the ancient stone circle that Orion had guided her to. She had committed all the pattern's marks and runes to memory. She was going to open the seal again tonight, where it had been touched once before.
