Chapter 9 Setting Off The Alarms

• The weekend went by quickly, maybe more than Chelsea would have liked, she couldn't wait until it was Monday to see him again although there were several questions in her head to answer, she had no idea what Steve's reaction would be when he saw her, if what happened in Montreal would stay there, much to her chagrin, back in New York they both had lives made, she was getting to know Fred and Steve was in a relationship with Larissa.
• She knew very well what her feelings were for him, but was he thinking of her in the same way? Would he be willing to end his relationship with Larissa, to leave her for her? It seemed to him practically a fallacy in all its rule, she was nothing exceptional, did not believe that she was one of those girls who stands out wherever she goes, nor one of those who attracts all eyes, she considered herself simple, the antonym of someone like Larissa, that girl was the opposite from her personality to the way she dressed and walked, who in their right mind would leave her for her? That was what terrified her the most, a large part of her wanted with all her might to see Steve again but the other was afraid of the reaction he might have.
• If she had known how much her relationship with him would change so much on that trip, she would have left on the very day Hugh had informed her. She never thought that underneath the cloak Steve was trying to build, there was a kind boy willing to risk his own life to save hers, that had never been done for her before, and she was convinced that not all people would be willing to do it.
