Chapter 374 In the Hands of Fate

  • Max didn’t look too happy about this. They knew Ivy would come here, and they expected her to sabotage the surveillance camera outside, so Max and Caitlin had another plan. There was another camera here and an independent system, so no matter how clever Ivy was, she would never expect the footage of her attempted murder was recorded. Caitlin looked at her mother, and she wondered how Judy was feeling. One thing was for sure though: she did not look well, so Caitlin said, “Mom, why don’t we call the doctor over? You worry me.”
  • “I’m fine, just a bit out of breath, but I’m better now.” Her voice was hoarse, and she sounded weak. No matter how much she disliked Ivy, and no matter how extreme Judy went, she had hope for the girl, but after Ivy attempted to murder her, that broke her heart. Maybe she’s just that kind of girl. Judy felt guilty toward Ivy, but then she thought about what Ivy did, and she couldn’t defend her. “Do what you need with the video. I’m healing up well and can be discharged tomorrow.”
  • “Mom, you—” Caitlin wanted to say something, but Max stopped her with a complex look, and he shook his head.
