• Kayla sat across from Adrian in his office, as silence fills the room.The morning had been spent analyzing the latest intel Ethan had uncovered about Victor’s movements. Lately, they are always in Adrian's office.
• "Coming up with something tangible?"Kayla finally asked, gripping the edge of Adrian's desk in anticipation Adrian leaned back in his chair, his sharp gaze locked on her. "You're already doing enough by staying out of Victor’s reach. I don't need you getting involve in this dirty fight."
• Her frustration boiled over. "And what? Sit here while he keeps making moves? He won’t stop until he destroys you, Adrian. And if that means using me, he will!, I'm still wondering what's the hatred is all about."
