Adrian’s house was quiet—eerily so. After Victor’s visit, the atmosphere had shifted, as if the air itself carried a warning. Adrian sat across the living room, his phone in hand, scrolling through messages with an intensity that made me shiver. He hadn’t said much after Victor left, but his eyes burned with restrained fury.
I glanced at him from my spot on the couch, unsure if I should break the silence. The horrible encounter with Victor still lingered in my mind—his words and taunts, the threats and the bantering between him and Adrian surely tells that this guys go way back together. There was more but I'm willing to know?
