Chapter 3 One Trusted Friend
- I wasn't worried about what the Pack members would do to Reynolds when they found out about his plans to give me the Beta position.
- Another part of me was. If I can't become the Beta, I won't be able to challenge him for the Alpha position.
- So, a part of me was really hoping whatever plans he had, better work out.
- Moreover, he now thinks I'm getting better with his help fighting; I can show a little bit of my skills without worrying or alerting him or others of how much power I wield.
- And Adrian, I glanced at him as he talked to some of the females who also came for the coronation. He would be a problem, but a very mild one. I had seen him in action, and he was no match for him; neither was Reynolds nor Alpha Reylis; I could take them all at once.
- My father isn't the most powerful Alpha for no reason. And something tells me this was another reason why Royal Alpha Hayden couldn't wait to strip him of his title. He was scared, he had always been scared, and when he heard about my dad's plans to stand alone, that did it for him; his insecurities increased, and he approved the injunction to strip my father down without even a challenge.
- Normally, if anyone dared to strip an Alpha of their title. They take up a challenge with them, which takes place at the royal arena, where all Alphas and members from other Packs come to watch.
- But this wasn't allowed for my father. They all knew he would win without breaking a sweat.
- So, they went with a royal decree instead, from the Alpha king. And also, a vote from all Pack members, which my dad also lost.
- Reylis seemed to have had all members under his sleeves, and they were all just as misogynistic as he was. They couldn't stand a female to lead them, and so they all voted to strip my dad of his title.
- "He's a dick head" Kayla cursed through our mind-link, staring at Adrian.
- "He sure is." That, I could say without worrying she would sell me out to him. She hated him just as much as I did.
- She let out a chuckle through our mind-link.
- I watched as some females walked past us, dressed in high heels, short dresses which put a bountiful amount of their ass in view for everyone to see.
- I shook my head in disdain. "Are they here for the coronation or do they have other plans?" I asked.
- Kayla scoffed. "Most of them think they stand a chance to become Reynolds' mate." She said,
- My brows raised frantically. I almost forgot Reynolds was right of age and would soon find a mate.
- In Nightfall Pack, most werewolves find their mates on their eighteenth birthday, and some later on, even till they're twenty-five or so.
- I wasn't interested in finding a mate, nor was I now. I'm twenty-one and yet to find a mate, and I couldn't be bothered. Not right now, when revenge was the only thing in my head.
- "Good luck to him." I simply replied.
- Kayla turned to me, with a smile. I arched my brows. "What if you two turn out to be mates.." She teased. A frown appeared on my face and I heard Selene's growl in my head.
- "Relax," I said to her.
- I forced out a smile. "Yeah, probably not," I said with a playful tone, trying really hard to keep my displeased tone to myself.
- "Why not? You know he likes you" She shrugged with a smile.
- "Yeah.." I trail off, pressing my lips together and looking around to see if there was a way I could get out of this awkward talk.
- "How much longer do I have to put up with this before your plan falls into place, my Alpha princess?" I caught Rhea's gaze from the yard, where she watered the plants together with other Omegas.
- A smile formed on my lips. "Hang on tight.." I muttered.
- Rhea still insisted on referring to me as the Alpha princess even when I was no longer one.
- She shared the same fate as me. She's our Delta's daughter and as the first pup, she's supposed to take over his position, but of course, she's a female. She can't. Her father also had no interest in making her one.
- "You're a girl, Rhea; let your brother take over," He had said to her.
- And so, her brother was next in line to his post.
- She's my best friend and the only one I trusted out of my 'supposed' friends. She knew of my plans and fully supported me, and I promised to get her her rightful spot once I became the Alpha.
- "Alright, girls, you can all go in now," Luna Mabel came out and announced.
- "Great," Rhea said with an eye roll as she walked over to us.
- The three of us walked in and settled down on a table where Reynolds' was also seated, alongside Adrian and Carmen- Rhea's brother.
- "There are so many girls here today," Carmen said with a flirty smile as he looked around.
- My eyes followed his gaze lazily and they landed on some females who looked like they came here in search of a male, definitely not here for the coronation.
- Reynolds let out a scoff. "Most of them tried to throw themselves at me just a while ago. They couldn't give a shit about whatever was going on here," He said like he heard my thoughts. Adrian shrugged and released a laugh. "I don't mind if they do. At least I get to take at least one girl to bed tonight.. unless Dianne's willing to offer.."
- Reynolds's growl was sharp and deep, and Adrian rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'm just joking" He surrendered.
- Reynolds looked at me and smiled, "Don't mind him" He said. I only nod and then look away. I didn't need him to fight for or defend me. I could handle Adrian myself, and I would do it once the time is right. Or perhaps, now.
