Chapter 152

• Olivia went to the park that had been designated, all alone. She held tightly onto a black plastic bag containing the cash, just as the mysterious messenger had requested, resting it on her lap. Her heart raced as she occasionally checked her phone for a message with further instructions. At the same time, the baby in her womb shifted, sending a sharp pang through her.
• Her gaze swept across the expansive park, which wasn’t exactly crowded. Olivia noticed a middle-aged woman feeding a toddler, presumably her grandchild, who was seated in a stroller.
• On the other side of the park, she saw a young mother absorbed in taking pictures of her little boy playing soccer. Unconsciously, the scene made Olivia smile.
