Chapter 10

  • The wind was blowing the rain in her face, but she wanted to see where they were going as they moved across the water, so she stood out from under the canopy. It smelled different with the rain. She was used to the wet earth scent in the rain. Was it the water? She’d never paused to think that rain brought different scents in various areas.
  • Deva adjusted the earbud, making sure it was secure and any motion wouldn’t jiggle it right out of her ear. She needed to hear all the conversations for this one.
  • A large eagle landed under the canopy beside Calum stretched out his wings, and shook his whole body. Deva didn’t know how Creed had managed to fly in this rain and was thankful that she didn’t have to do things like that.
