Chapter 3

  • It was dinner time, the next day, they were having meat and sauce.
  • The pets ate from a plate laying on the bare floor, they were not allowed to sit on a couch or sofa.
  • Dinner felt more like a visit to the dead time, they all focused on their food. Mackie got up to go drop his plate in the kitchen.
  • ' Stop right there.'' Master ordered, making him stand in a spot. " Over here you don't do things yourself instead you order them to, that is why they exist.' He completed.
  • ' But I just thought.....'
  • ' No Mackie, no thoughts. Here you don't think, you order. Number 6 take it to the kitchen.' He ordered.
  • Annabel crawled him to him and stretched her hand for the plate to be placed on her palms.
  • It was against the law to touch a werewolf. He looked at her gently with plea visible in his eyes and placed it between her palms.
  • He did not want to disturb them, he always wondered how they could crawl and hold things at the same time.
  • Must be pain for them, living as a pet.?
  • He thought.
  • Annabel got back in about ten minutes of trying to not break the expensive plate in her palms while being uncomfortable crawling.
  • He still sat at the table doing nothing but staring into the atmosphere.
  • He looked kind and human like to her. She traced her eyes over him, trying to get his full look in details.
  • She admired how neat his hair looked, how shaved and neat his face was.
  • He had noticed someone staring at him and looked sideways slightly, trying to not alert his uncle who had his head in his food.
  • Their gaze met, eyes locked for a minute.
  • Annabel felt butterflies in her tummy, her heart beating fast in accordance to the twilight in his pupils.
  • It was like they were alone in the room or visible to just one another. There was a connection she felt, she wasn't sure if he did too, a vibration her body made.
  • Annabel smiled at him hoping he would return but he looked away cutting the moment short.
  • Did she just pass her boundaries? Did she break a law? Was she getting killed if he reported?.
  • She asked herself, scared of dying.
  • He wouldn't snitch on her, he wasn't the kind to at least that she hoped.
  • She joined the others to clear the table and they all left for their room.
  • It was around midnight, she was asleep but felt awake. She felt someone calling onto her, a male voice, one she knew sounded familiar. She turned around and saw it, a blue sea, the moon hanging beautifully in the sky, the sound of the silent waves. She felt like she was in Paradise, one she never wanted to wake from.
  • A hand landed on his shoulder gently, making her to turn around only to see Mackie.
  • What was he doing in her dream? How did he get into her dream? Was it because she thought of him last night?.
  • She was confused.
  • ' Hi Annabel.'' He finally spoke, throwing a smile. " Sorry I had to invade your dream but I couldn't get my mind off you.' He said and she blushed slightly.
  • ' Is this real.?' She asked, unable to believe it.
  • ' Only you know the answer Anny, it is real only if you want it to.' He said.
  • ' Why did you come into my dream?' She was curious.
  • He chuckled, ' You called for me Anny. That aside, can I ask you what relationship you have with this place. The view is beautiful.'
  • She heaved and sat down on the bench that wasn't there until that moment.
  • ' Well before my Father's death, he used to bring me here, he called it our little space. He would bring me here anytime he wanted us to have that bond.
  • He loved most things I loved, hated most things I did and showed me how to be a better me.' Tears stringed at the back of he eyes but she held herself back, controlling it from flowing down.
  • You are strong now Anny. You are bigger.
  • She told herself.
  • ' Sorry about that, but how did he die?.'
  • ' Your kind killed him, in an attempt to save me, he had to give himself up.' She could no longer hold them back as they poured effortlessly, it had been a long time since she last visited the memory.
  • He held her close, patting her on the back, ' Sorry, I am so sorry you had to go through all that but trust me I am different, different from the others.
  • Wipe your tears Anny.'' He used his back palm to wipe her face, lifting it to look into his "You look beautiful when you smile so smile always.'
  • ' Wake up Number 6, it's morning.'' Someone was shaking her in a bid to get her up.
  • ' Master will soon be up, you don't wanna get yourself killed.' It was Number 2 voice.
  • ' I have to go now.' She told him, stroking her finger down his jawline.
  • ' Think of me whenever you want to see me and I will be right here for you Anny.' He said and turned, walking away.
  • Annabel woke up with the dream feeling so real, the feeling and everything felt so real. She could still feel his touch on her, could still hear his voice in her head.
  • ' I am awake now Mamito, sorry I slept too long.' She pleaded and pecked her on her left cheek. Annabel felt secured about how much Number 2 cared for her like she was her own child.
  • ' You must have slept late yesterday. That aside, we need to be up and working before Master wakes up, trust me you don't wanna ever be on his bad side.' She said and pulled her along to the Main Mansion to start their day work.
  • Even though the house was always neat and clean everyday, they still had to keep it clean. Mob and clean it every morning, Master hated the sight of dust. They cleaned all rooms both underground ones everyday whether used or unused.
  • They also had to run Master's bath and his visitor's bath while picking out all they needed to wear.
  • ' Number 6 go fix the second Master's bath while I go fix Master's own. The others are busy.' Number 1 said, crawling towards their Master's room.
  • Annabel had her throat in her mouth, she saw her in her dream just last night and here she was about to come into physical contact with him.
  • What if last night was real? What if he really came and she was never dreaming? Would she still be able to look at him like he was her other Master?.
  • She asked herself, took a deep breath and knocked on his door.
  • The door flung open and he stepped out a little, he was barely wearing anything but just a towel tied to his waist. His chest hair revealing and his biceps. Her face turned all red seeing how manly he was. She had never had a chance to really feel this way with the opposite sex, the only one she ever had a close contact with was her Dad.
  • ' Will you come in or you still want to stare.' He said breaking the silence, chuckling a little. She felt embarrassed that he had caught her in the act and crawled in with her head down, trying to avoid his gaze.
  • Was could be going through his mind?
  • Did he feel the way she did? Can he also
  • not stop thinking about last night?
  • Come off it girl, it was only a dream, a meaningless one.
  • ' How may I help you?' He asked, walking around the room trying to sort out his clothes, the towel swinging rhythm to his movement.
  • She was dumbfounded for a while as she admired his body. Broad chest, nice skin and he looked sexy, if she knew what it meant.
  • ' Humm, I am here to run your bath and....humm sort your clothes.' She said stammering, trying to act cool not to show the awkwardness in her voice.
  • ' Well hummm what is that your name again?' He asked, scratching his head to try and remember.
  • ' Annabel, that is my human name, here I go by Number 6.' She said sadly, wishing they had met in a better circumstances, one that didn't require her being a pet or all the rules.
  • He laughed for a minute, ' Number 6? Weird name though for a beautiful damsel like you." He watched her face lit up, turn all red. " While I will call you Anny whenever we are alone...'
  • Whenever they were alone? Did that mean he remembered last night? Did that mean everything was real?.
  • ' Did you hear me?.' He asked.
  • ' Oh sorry I was thinking about something, humm what did you say again Young Master.' She said embarrassed that she really had to show how stupid she was at his face.
  • ' Wooh wooh wooh calm down young lady, it is Mackie not young Master. I would prefer you address me as Mackie.'
  • ' But the rule says......'
  • ' The rule says this, the rule says that, I am tired of all the rules. Between us call me Mackie pls, Young Master makes me feel so old.' He teased.
  • ' Okay Youn....Mac...kie....Mackie.' She said with care, satisfied by how the name rolled down her lips.
  • ' Yes Mackie, Anny that is my name and I said that I sorted them all out myself so you don't have to worry yourself okay.
  • You can go now, I will be down for breakfast.' He said and backed her, pretending she was no longer in the room.
  • Did last night never really happen? Did he not remember anything or he pretended not to?.
  • She felt like a fool for taking a dream serious, felt stupid for thinking a dream would fix them up and make them friends, stupid for thinking he felt the same way.
  • You are not his type Anny and you will never be. You are human and he is a werewolf. He can never marry a pet, get that into your skull.
  • The tiny little voice said, doing well to remind her of her place in her new life.
  • ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
  • She laid back on the soft sofa that suddenly was in her dream, she had quietly wished he showed up again even though she knew it wasn't real.
  • She craved to feel his touch again, craved to see him smile again. How she felt so connected to a stranger baffled her, a stranger who probably didn't feel the same way for her.
  • Why she found joy and happiness in the smile of a werewolf, a love definitely forbidden between them. She knew she was taking a grave risk one which could cost her, her life.
  • She waited silently, staring at the ocean, flashing back on the memories she had with her father.
  • ' Come back here Princess.' She watched as her father said to a younger version of herself as she strolled too deep into the water.
  • His face beaming with joy and pride, his pupils dancing with love.
  • He was a very loving and handsome man whom had loved her mother endlessly regardless of being the talk of the town.
  • ' I will never be able to replace her with someone else' were always his word.
  • She watched herself giggle happily as her father tinkled her and silently wished she could be a kid again and have those sweet memories again.
  • Memories of her being pure and innocent, being little and free from pain. Days when they would do anything just to safeguard her.
