  • The weight of the day lingered on my chest like wet cement, heavy and inescapable. I woke before the sun, my body curled instinctively around Sienna’s small, warm frame. Her breath tickled my collarbone, soft and rhythmic, and I pressed a kiss to her forehead before gently slipping out of bed.
  • I didn’t turn around to check if Christian was awake. I didn’t need to. I could feel him—his presence anchored in the air like fog, thick and unmoving. Even when silent, Christian had a way of pressing into every corner of a room.
