Chapter 14

• Josh finally got to his grandfather's room after he knocked countless times and the door was not opened. He let himself in and found his grandfather absent from the room. He heard the shower running and knew at once that he was taking a shower.
• He chuckled at how weird his grandfather's room is. He has got it all pinky like a lady's room and the funny part is when his grandma was alive, she got her room blues. Josh has wondered why they are the opposite of what they are. He has always seen his family as a weird one, how can one of them be getting married tomorrow and his parents are nowhere to be found? His father would prefer to tour around with his mother than to be home and if not that grandfather has given them the order to be home, they might have spent Christmas in London.
• He is not surprised though, since he was a kid, it's been his grandfather looking after him and Luke and he has gotten used to the way his parents live their lives but it still baffles him sometimes.
• It's Christmas here in the state, everyone has gotten in the mood, trees, animals, and even human beings. Every mall you visit now has Christmas decorations, every corner of the street as well, and most families in the States, everyone can feel the spirit in the air but here in his home, it's nothing like that. It's like every normal day for them. He had thought it was going to be different this time around since Luke was to get married. He was disappointed when he got home and met no spirit of Santa there. The only thing that changed was the ballroom outside the mansion, it has been decorated with white and red as it will be the color of the day with no touch of green.
• Senior Bleak has stated his desire to have the wedding low-key, he doesn't want to have a big wedding which Luke has agreed to but now that it is his wedding instead, Josh has thought it could not meet to what he wants for himself but then he is getting married out of will so there is no need to fuss about it, he would just get married for his grandfather's sake and keep her here and return to the London and live his life and maybe, he could divorce her when his grandfather might have been gone to the great beyond.
• There will be no wedding reception, just the exchange of vows and that will be all. Josh knew it was actually in his favor because many will not be aware that he is married which will make it easier for him to get rid of Alex whenever he wants to.
• The big frame photo of his grandma was smiling down at him and he smiled too.
• His grandma gave him so much, he is who he is today because of the old woman, she was more than a mother to him and that has made Josh never think of his parents for once because all he ever wanted in life was provided for him by his grandparents. It was more than enough for him and it's the reason he can't refuse his grandfather anything, it's why he is getting married to a strange woman, and he hopes it's worth it. How he got there is what he can't explain, one mischief from him and he is getting married.
• Josh made himself comfortable on the pink couch. He scanned the room and found pink pajamas lying gracefully on his grandfather's bed. The bed is covered in a blue bedspread and a pink duvet.
• Josh shook his head, it was so weird to him though.
• Thank goodness the wall was not painted pink if not it would have been total madness.
• There was a huge closet standing by the left side of the room. The room is huge enough to serve as a living room. The bed was at the center of the room and the couch which Josh sat on was close enough to the closet. There was a huge standing mirror beside the closet and that is there because of Josh's grandma.
• By the right side of the room, stood a huge photo frame of the whole family. Senior Bleak is seen sitting with his wife while Junior Bleak stood at the back of his mother and Susan stood at the back of Senior Bleak. Luke stood by the grandma's side while Josh stood at the grandfather's side. The picture portrays a happy family, which is because each one of them has found ways to live with each other's flaws.
• The question is, will things remain ever the same again when a lady is entangled with the two grandsons of the Bleak family.
• Josh shifted on the couch and wondered why his grandfather was not out of the bathroom yet, Silas was nowhere in sight. Maybe he is out on an errand for his grandfather. The mansion is so huge that one does not keep count of all that goes on in the mansion.
• That moment, his grandfather stepped out of the bathroom in a pink towel and you can say that he is the male version of Barbie. Senior Bleak saw his grandson and frowned.
• " I called you since and you just arrive?"
• He asked sternly, Josh opened and closed his mouth. What the heck is wrong with this grandfather of his, he has a way of turning the table around.
• "Grandfather, you are the one who refused to come out of the bathroom, I have been here for a long"
• Josh said with a slight frown on his face, Senior Bleak ignored him and went to his bed.
• "Kindly help me with my pajamas"
• He said and Josh stared at him. How can he tell him to get the pajamas beside him for him?
• Josh can't tell why his grandfather is so complex that he failed to understand him. The pajama in question is closer to Senior Bleak than it is to Josh yet he had requested that Josh get it for him.
• "But grand…."
• "Don't grandfather me and get me my pajamas this minute"
• He yelled cutting Josh off, Josh sighed and walked over to him, picked up the Pyjama, and handed it over to his grandfather who took it without a thank you.
• "You have got to be more responsible now that you are about to be married, by tomorrow you will be married not just on paper but for real. It takes patience to deal with women"
• Senior Bleak said and put on his pajamas and smiled at Josh. Josh felt like the old man called him out here to give him counseling on marriage.
• Josh was so right about it because that was actually why his grandfather called him.
• "Get two glasses of whisky for two people, Josh Bleak."
• Josh shook his head and headed towards the bar at the far end.
• Instead of his grandfather saying whiskey for him and Josh, he said for two making it feel like it is for some other person.
• He got the whiskey and two glass cups from the bar and returned to his grandfather on the bed.
• He opened the whiskey, poured it for himself and Senior Bleak then set the whiskey bottle on a nearby stool.
• "Josh, I realized that you have got temperament issues, you have got to learn how to do with it"
• Senior Bleak said and sip his whiskey.
• "This feels so good, it helps you clear your mind and stay focused"
• He mumbled and Josh shook his head, when will his grandfather realize that he is old and some certain things are not meant to be taken by him for him to live longer?
• "You are about to be wedded, some lifestyles you live, you have to drop them. As a man, family matters first, and don't ever joke with it. You should be able to learn from me, this family is what it is today because I have given my best, your best is not enough until it becomes the best."
