Chapter 11

• Luke could not tolerate how he was feeling and decided to confront his big bro. He had heard that Alex was taken to Josh's room and he can't have any of it.
• He barged into Josh's room expecting to see Alex in a compromising situation with Josh but he met the room empty. He sighed and wondered where she could be.
• Josh looked at him and continued going through his phone.
• It seems to him that Luke has lost his senses.
• "What can I do for you, kid brother?"
• Josh questioned him, Luke clenched his fist and felt like smashing his brother's head against the wall.
• "Bro, you can't do this. Go tell grandpa the truth. She is my girlfriend and you can't have her"
• Josh chuckled and kept his phone by the side.
• "Did you say your girlfriend, correct yourself, Luke. She is your ex-girlfriend because if I am not mistaken, you broke up with her this evening and you heard her, she still loves me and we are getting married tomorrow. Case close, do well to jam the door close if you make your exit"
• Josh said nonchalantly and picked his phone up again. He is done with his brother's childishness. If only Luke knows that he does not want the girl, he just can't let go of her even if he wants. And because his grandfather is involved now, it's impossible to end the game. His grandfather seems to like the girl but that is not his headache. He will just do him the honor and marry the girl, period. He wouldn't have the strength for his necessary drama.
• "I thought to let you know that I won't give up on what's mine. She is mine and mine alone"
• Luke said and made to leave the room but his brother stopped him.
• "You are here talking because your plans to marry a rich bae have failed. I wondered why you would chase Miss Sahery because of her family wealth when you have more than enough. I realized that you don't make use of your brain sometimes, you had let go of Alex and now you are claiming her."
• He took a pause," see, it's not up to me to decide if Alex wants you back so get lost"
• Josh said sternly. He gestured for Luke to leave his room and he left with anger.
• He shook his head,
• "Grow up, you refused."
• He said and wondered what was keeping the damn lady from coming out of the bathroom, he hopes she has not died there.
• Josh made to go to the bathroom to check on Alex when he heard a knock on the day and he grunted.
• "Whoever you're just come in already"
• He yelled and the door opened immediately to reveal his grandfather's personal guard. Whatever he is doing here has to do with the old man.
• "Sir, Senior Bleak demands to see you as soon as possible"
• He said and bowed, turned his back, and left after closing the door.
• Josh had thought as much.
• "Grandfather, I wonder what it is, this time around. I can't wait to go back to the state"
• He said and picked a shirt and left.
• The moment he left, Alex stepped out of the bathroom with relief. She has been contemplating how to come out from the bathroom when she overheard Josh and one other person talking and it seems his grandfather has called for his attention.
• "I might have small of fresh air now that you are not here and figure myself out of this damn place"
• Alex whistled to herself, there is no doubt she was looking for a means to leave there as soon as possible.
• She was wrapped in his towel. She realized that he uses lemonade fragrance because every one of his things has a lemonade fragrance. She admits she likes it.
• "Girlie don't get comfortable here, you know you are not welcome so find a way to leave here if you can, be alert, and don't be deceived, he does not like you so you are not welcomed"
• She said to herself and hit her forehead.
• She dumped her clothes in the bathroom and Alex is someone who can't wear clothes twice.
• She was just naked with a towel tied around her waist.
• She isn't huge like most girls but she has got a fine shape which makes men drool over her. She has got everything in the right places. She has got boobs, brains, and beauty. Her friends back in college always refer to her as the lady with the three B. Heaven gave her everything except a luxurious life.
• She came from an average family and for as long as she could remember, her family has always managed but she never complained. It was just her, her younger brother, Ander, her mom, and her dad. It was a family of four and their dad never failed to provide for the family's necessities. She and her brother had never lacked, although they were not living large, they were living and that was what mattered.
• She was grateful for the life she had and had never failed to thank her creator daily. Alex was a grateful soul.
• She thought of how far life has been for her. It would have been better if her parents were still alive.
• It was just her and her brother now and she had vowed to protect him however, it seems she is the one who needs protection.
• Ander would be worried by now because she has not called him and thinking about him reminded her that she is not with her phone.
• "Bast*rd"
• She cursed loudly.
• It's been five solid years, and with tears in her eyes, she recalled the unfortunate incident that has made her and her brother orphans.
• It was her final year in college. Her parents had managed to send her to college despite not having much, well she supported them by taking up a part-time job which did not only lessen the burden of responsibility on her parents, it helped give Ander a better life. She was glad she could help. So throughout college, she had that part-time job.
• Some memories are hard to forget, especially the gruesome ones.
• It was a quiet Wednesday evening. She had returned home after school and work, so tired that she was craving a warm bath and her bed, probably if she managed to get some food into her stomach. If tired was a person, it would have been Alex that day.
• Alex did not know that something bigger than her was waiting for her at home, cause that would turn her already turned world, around.
• She got home and met the whole place quietly which is unusual.
• They lived on the outskirts of the town but that does not mean it's this quiet. She has wondered what has gone wrong.
• She had the spare key to their apartment, it was a small apartment that had served them for so long. Her childhood memories were built around here. It was not fancy enough but she never complained because Alex believes the future holds something great for her. Her life at that moment did not matter much, she was aspiring for greater things.
• From what she had heard from the dad, the apartment was a gift from his former employer. The man moved to another town and left the apartment for her family. It was the employer's way to say "thank you" to her dad because their dad was a good man according to the former owner of the house.
• Alex fumbled inside her handbag as she searched for the spare key. She found it and sighed only for her to see that the door was never locked.
• "Where could everyone have gone, leaving the door open?"
• She had asked as she took a step forward. It was an unusual thing in the house for the door to be left open when no one is around.
• With an unknown feeling creeping into her, she embraced herself to expect the unexpected. She did not understand what was up with the way her heart was beating.
