• Besides the Man stood a respectable man from Los Angeles. He was head of the top three most rich and influential families in Los Angeles, Ethan Turner.
• " Why would he think of compensating me after all these years? My mother is already dead, do you think I still want the brilliance Corp back?" Tyson replied gloomily.
• The brilliance Corp was his mother's sweat and blood. But that family took everything from her before kicking her away.They were banned from ever setting their foot in DC again. Tyson can still remember how his mother had to toil hard, doing odd jobs here in Los Angeles to make ends meet and put food on the table.
• " The master expressed his heartfelt apology to you. He also said he's not trying to buy you off. The company originally belonged to your mother so it should be yours.The house and the car are meant to be betrothal gifts to your wife." The butler explained.
• After much thinking, Tyson accepted the gifts. The company was his mother's so it was only right to inherit it. As for the car and house, he would need a few gifts for his wife. A car would be best to help her commute from work and drive their daughter to school.
• " Okay. I will accept them but you should inform your master that I don't want any relations with the Carter family. As per paying him a visit, I'll naturally come when the time is right." Tyson said, dismissing the butler. The middle aged man was so happy that he thanked Tyson severally before exiting the room with Ethan Turner.
• Laying in his bed, Tyson's thoughts went to his wife. She was still as beautiful as ever. He couldn't help but fall in love with her all over again. She had the purest of hearts he has ever seen.But he could also tell that life hasn't been easy for her. She must have suffered raising his daughter.
• With the brilliance Corp under his name, he could easily get her a better position compared to what she was at the Lewis Corp.
• Before he left the army, he had acquired the Sarit business Park which was recently completed.
• The business Park was at the centre of Los Angeles. He didn't have a plan in mind and just needed something to set foot in Los Angeles.
• The following morning at Samantha's house.
• They woke up to a visit from one among the top tier family heads, Ethan Turner.
• He delivered a car, a title deed to a house in the most luxurious estates in Los Angeles, the Greenpark and a wad of cash.
• The gifts delivered were anonymously named as betrothal gifts.
• Since Samantha has a sister, Patricia, who was younger by three years, the family assumed that the betrothal gifts were meant for her. It was only practical since Samantha was already married to that good-for-nothing husband of hers, Tyson.
• Susan, Samantha and Patricia's mother couldn't believe the luck shining upon the family. She was a materialistic woman who cared about nothing else but money.
• She could even sell her soul to the devil if it meant having more money.
• " I can't believe my daughter managed to catch the attention of one of the richest men in LA. In the future, our family can relax and not worry about money." She said with a dreamy expression on her face.
• " Mom, you should be careful about what gifts you accept. Who knows what the intention of that man is." Samantha didn't approve of her behaviour and warned her.
• " Why don't you just say you are jealous because Tricia managed to get the attention of a wealthy man, compared to the useless husband of yours who can't even get a proper gift for you." Susan blatantly berated Samantha.
• Although Samantha was disappointed by her mother's behaviour, she could only try to warn her. Rich families had their complications and that's why she didn't want her sister to get entangled with one.
• " In any case just be careful." She said, intending to leave for work with Tara who was tagging along with her backpack ready for school.
• " What's happening here?" Tyson, who had just arrived in his car to pick up his daughter and wife, wondered. The whole Lewis family was out while Patricia was inspecting a red Maserati parked outside the house.
• " Here comes the good-for-nothing blabbering about. " Susan mocked.
• " What do you think this is? Of course these are betrothal gifts sent for Tricia by the Turner family. It's something a useless and poor person like you won't understand." Susab was harsh with her words as usual.
• Ofcourse, Tyson was already used to her insults.
• He looked at the said betrothal gifts and smiled. They were the same betrothal gifts that Ethan Turner delivered to the Lewis family under the Instruction of the butler of the Carter family from DC.
• They were meant to be Samantha's betrothal gifts but now, Susan is shamelessly declaring them to be Patricia's while mocking Tyson for being incapable of gifting such to Samantha.
• Tyson wondered the expressions they'd make if he said that those were meant for Samantha.
• He wanted to hold Samantha's hands and tell her that everything belonged to her but he held himself back. If he did that, obviously no one would believe him. Afterall in their minds, he was nothing but a live-in son-in-law of the Lewis family. He was penniless and obviously would not be able to afford that.
• He might as well get Insulted More.
• " Oh I see!" He only said before turning to his wife and daughter.His nonchalant behaviour irked Susan to the core but she said nothing more.
• Tyson caught the look of longing in Samantha's eyes when she looked at the Maserati in front of her.
• He smiled Inwardly.
• He decided to do something for his wife and show her that he could take care of her and his daughter.
• She could get anything she wanted. All she needed to do was ask.
• ' Don't worry Sam. I will prove to you that I am not the same penniless Tyson from before. Now I can take care of you and my daughter. You wouldn't need to work hard anymore In your life as long as I am here.' He said inwardly.
• " I came to pick up you and Tara." Tyson announced.
• As the family of three left the old residential area, Susan watched them with distaste.
• She hated Tyson to the core.
• " I managed to get a cheap car for myself. From today onwards, you don't have to worry about going to work. I will drop and pick you up from work everyday. I will also be dropping Tara to the kindergarten." Tyson said as he led his family to the jaguar waiting at the entrance of the house .
• " You don't have to tire yourself. I can manage with a taxi." Although she felt sweet and warm from his offer, she still had to consider that it would be tiring for Tyson to drive to the house every morning to pick her up and drop her later.
• " You are my wife Samantha. I have been away for years and failed in my duty as your husband and father to Tara. I want to make things right this time round." Tyson replied, gazing straight to Samantha's face.
• Samantha blushed from his scorching gaze, making Tyson smile. She was still the shy and reserved lady from five years ago. Nothing really changed except that she grew even more beautiful and mature.
• " Okay." Samantha finally conceded.
• " Has anyone been giving you a hard time at work?" Tyson found himself asking. He was worried that Samantha was still being bullied in her work place like before.
• At that time he could only watch and do nothing, but things were different now. He couldn't tolerate anybody bullying his wife.
• " No, everything is fine." Samantha said after heaving a long sigh of relief.
• Things were never different again after she was involved in the scandal that spread to the whole of Los Angeles, but she was used to it by now.
• She was demoted from the position of general manager to a mere secretary. Even after working diligently in the company for years, her position still remained the same. She never got any promotion or benefits.
• She was a loyal person and despite the Lewis family looking down and mocking her to no end,she still decided to remain in the Lewis family.
• She could have opted to find another job elsewhere.
• With her qualifications, many companies would be willing to take her in with a better position and salary. But she had a deep attachment to the Lewis company, making her stay despite everything.
• " If you encounter anything, just let me know." Tyson offered. Since he wanted to protect his wife, he might as well start from her place of work.
• " Tyson, it's better if you stay away from the Lewis company.I don't want you to have problems with Grandpa. You Know our situation in the Lewis family so don't stir up trouble.I can take care of myself." Samantha said seriously. She was worried that her family would find another reason to humiliate Tyson if he involved himself with the Lewis main family.
