Chapter 2

  • Tyson was in a daze as he watched the woman he had been thinking about for years comfort the little girl.
  • Then a thought flashed in his mind.
  • Could it be that she is his and Samantha's daughter? Was the little girl telling the truth all along?
  • Just thinking about it brought immense happiness to his heart.
  • " Tell me Tara, who made you cry?" The soft voice of a woman could be heard questioning the little doll who was still sniffling back her tears.
  • " I found daddy but daddy doesn't want Tara." She replied in her childish voice, pointing at Tyson accusingly.
  • The lady who was squatting earlier turned to look at the direction her daughter pointed.
  • When their eyes met, hers widened in surprise before they turned to anger.
  • She glared at Tyson then picked her daughter before walking away.
  • The spectators watching the whole ordeal couldn't help but whisper among themselves.
  • " What's the deal with those three? One person asked.
  • " How would I know but wait...do you think the man is the father of the little girl?"
  • " If he's the father, how come he doesn't seem to recognize her?"
  • " Maybe he has been away for years and is only coming back now."
  • " What a lucky bastard. He runs away and comes back when the child is all grown up."
  • " Have you seen how the lady is angry at him?"
  • " Who wouldn't be? if I was her, I would have given him a slap."
  • The comments were not pleasing to the ear.
  • When Jordan heard the people reprimanding Tyson, anger rose in him?
  • How dare they criticise him?
  • Were they worthy of mentioning his name, leave alone talking behind his back?
  • He was about to confront them but was stopped by Tyson. He said nothing, just shook his head.
  • People could say whatever they wanted. He didn't care.
  • He knew now that his wife was mad at him.
  • It was understandable. He left for five without any message.
  • He didn't expect her to welcome him with open arms when he came back.
  • One thing he knew, he would do anything to earn her forgiveness.
  • He would also do anything to take care of her and their daughter.
  • As they left and headed to the jaguar arranged for them, Jordan couldn't control his curiosity.
  • " What just happened? Is that your wife and daughter? But I never heard you mention that you had a daughter?"
  • Jordan was confused and could only seek answers from Tyson.
  • " I just found out today itself."
  • He was as surprised as him. He never knew that he had a daughter. Not that there was a way for him to know when he didn't keep in touch with Samantha for five years.
  • But he could count the number of times he was Intimate with Samantha with his one hand.
  • Infact, it only happened once.Tge two of them were under the influence of drugs.
  • After that night, Tyson was forced to marry Samantha.
  • The Lewis family argued that it was the only way to cover the shame and embarrassment Samantha caused her family.
  • Back then, he was nothing but a penniless man who was struggling to make ends meet.
  • He had just graduated from college with no decent work.
  • He was hired by the Lewis family as the personal driver of Samantha Lewis who was by that time working as the general manager of El passion Corp which was a jewel company.
  • The two stayed married for two months. He later left after losing everything he had. By everything I mean after his mother passed away.
  • Tyson's mother had been sick and bedridden. Since he couldn't afford to pay for the surgery she needed, she was left to die.
  • Before he left, he promised her that he would come back for her.
  • Five years later, he finally felt ready to face his past and returned, only to be greeted with the news that he was already a father.
  • If that child was the product of the affair they had that night, he will gladly take responsibility as a father and a dutiful husband to his wife.
  • " I must say that you are in deep shit then. She seemed pretty angry with you." Jordan commented.
  • " I Know."
  • He understood why she was angry.
  • Afterall, five years of disappearance wasn't something small, especially when she was left to take care of their daughter alone.
  • Thinking about the hardships she might have gone through, his chest tightened.
  • After that scandal years ago, everyone in the Lewis family started looking down at her.
  • By marrying a penniless man like him, her worth and dignity was trampled upon.
  • She might have never complained before him, but he sure knew she felt bad.
  • The whole ordeal was a set-up to strip her of the position of general manager.
  • Although he was never raised in a rich man's house, he understood perfectly well how things operated in those families.
  • Family members plot against each other for Power and prestige.
  • It was unfortunate for her to find herself in such a situation.
  • Whether it happened by chance or by choice, Tyson swore to only have one woman in his life and that woman was Samantha.
  • As he thought about the past, they arrived at Samantha's home.
  • After that scandal, her family was casted out of the main Lewis residence.
  • They were given a house away from the others.
  • After asking Jordan to drop him at the entrance, Tyson made his way to his in-laws house.
  • It was here he spent two months of his life before he left for the army.
  • The house was old and shabby but was still in good conditions.
  • Although it had several cracks and worn out paint, it wasn't that bad.
  • Tyson entered the house and could clearly tell that his in-laws had visitors.
  • He was about to announce his presence when he heard something that Made his blood boil.
  • " You should Marry John as soon as possible, Samantha. At Least he is willing to marry you and accept your bastard daughter." Samantha's mother, Susan advised.
  • " What did you just say?" A thunderous voice bloomed from the entrance of the house, causing everyone present at the dining table to snap their eyes and look at the source.
