He knew the intentions Michael had harbored, though Michael himself claimed to have abandoned them, and he had silently permitted a level of interference in her life. Celeste, being a Frost-even if unofficially, in his mind-deserved protection, even from her supposed ally in Emberwood Pack. Elias had monitored the situation not to intervene overtly, but to ensure that no one-least of all Michael-crossed a line that could harm her beyond repair.
