- Faye went home with Phillip. She slept on the couch in the living room, and Phillip slept in the bedroom. That was the rule in the contract—no intimacy.
- In the early hours of the morning, the doorbell rang. Faye rubbed her eyes, stood up, and walked to the door. She opened it to find a lady standing there.
- “I’m sorry to bother you this early morning,” the lady said. Her voice was soft but firm. “Is Phillip here?”
