Chapter 17

• I met Phillip at his house. He sent his assistant to pick me up. I sat quietly in the back seat as we drove through the city. My heart was beating fast. I didn’t know what to expect. The last time we saw each other, things ended with a kiss. A kiss that changed everything.
• When we got to his house, the assistant opened the door for me and I stepped out. The house looked big and quiet. I took a deep breath and walked to the door. It opened before I could knock. There he was, Phillip, standing in the doorway with an apron tied around his waist. The smell of food filled the air. My stomach rumbled.
• "Oh, you are here," Phillip said. He looked surprised but happy. I just stood there, not sure what to say. He stepped aside and let me in.
