Chapter 32

• Ruby sat in Annette's ward, she couldn't risk leaving her on her own, she had instructed the others to call her if anything else needed her attention and was currently watching the woman sleep, she was so tired and needed to sleep too but she knew she would not get that sleep anytime soon, not when the chances of her leaving again were high, Liam was still not back and she wondered what's keeping him for so long, would his brother-in-law want him back, she hoped not, she didn't want him to leave and he already promised her that he won't leave them here but what if he doesn't have a choice, his job was totally different from hers so maybe there were rules that might make his staying here impossible, she wished he would just come back already and put her mind at ease.
• Annette was currently sleeping peacefully and Ruby wished she could fall asleep too but she had too much on her mind and she couldn't risk falling asleep either, at least not until Liam returns, Annette hadn't said a word to her when she came in here earlier, she just looked at her and covered her eyes, she couldn't tell if she was still pretending to sleep or was really sleeping like she was making her believe, she wished the woman could talk to her but she understand why she had trust issues, years and years of going through the hell that she must have been through would make anyone wary of humans, she hasn't even been through half, not even quarter of the shits the woman laying on the bed must have been through but she was already wary of humans, her life was a joke, the only thing that was not wrong right now was her job, maybe that's why she decided to stay here because here she couldn't even have time to sleep so there was no time to dwell on negative thoughts, back home, she only had to work four times a week and the remaining three day off were spent doing nothing but feeling sorry for herself.
