Chapter 17

• Liam sat staring at his system, waiting for his brother-in-law to pick up, he choose to do a video call because he wanted to be face to face with him, the last few days has been regular, pretty normal and there was nothing out of the ordinary, he spent most of his day at the hospital helping out as much as he can and then, he comes back home with baby Kristen who was growing attached to him as the days goes, he was still in the lookout for her mom but so far there hasn't been any positive response, not like he wanted to give her up, he just wanted to know why she felt it was okay to abandon her baby but then last night happened and now he had more to do, he needed to make sure he can get to the root of everything happening so that what Ruby witnessed the night before won't happen again.
• After the incident with Ruby, he decided to tell his brother-in-law what he had found out so far, there was no need to keep prolonging things, he needed the island to be investigated as soon as possible, he didn't know what it is but the island was a disaster and might get worst if nothing is done soon. Ruby had still been shaken, even when she left for work this morning, she still had so much fear in her, if she didn't have work at the hospital today, he would have told her to spend the whole day in bed, but she was the team leader and she couldn't just be absent from work, not to mention she is the surgeon on ground, he wish there was more he could do for her, watching her sleep last night, he had the urge to protect her always, even though he barely knew her and only know the few things about herself that she had shared with him, it wasn't his style to like a stranger so much but with Ruby, there was no rule, same with Kristen, he bonded with them even without trying.
