• I sniffled while sitting on the couch and holding the pregnancy test.
• I should have heeded the warning indications throughout the previous few weeks. Similar to how sensitive my sense of smell is, I hadn't smelled beef stew the day before. Instead, I had breathed in the aromas of celery, beef broth, and carrots separately or the nearly constant feeling of weight on my breasts. Now that I think about it, I have been grumpy with Miki lately. Perhaps that was related to hormones.
• Miki suddenly barged in the door, growling. "What? What's not right? When you were crying on the phone, why? Why won't you explain the situation to me? Driving was making me freaking crazy."
