Chapter 6

• Ashutosh PoV:
• I am in my college thinking about Rudrani. I remembered her crying face in the temple. I heard what she said to the priest. How can people be this cruel and heartless? But, why am I thinking this much about an unknown girl? Why am I getting connected to her so much?
• Just then my phone rang and I received the call.
• "Hello mom"
• "Hello Ashu, where are you?"
• "Still in the college mom"
• "Okay Ashu, I am sending a girl to our hospital for job. As Dad is out of station,you have to deal with it"
• "Sure mom, I will go. You don't worry"
• I said and went to hospital. I love my Mom.I try to do what ever I can to make them proud. As my both parents are doctors, we have a hospital of our own. Sometimes I also help them out in seeing the patients. I love working there.
• My gang too accompanied me today. We are rehearsing dance for our annual day in the recreation room. Artika and myself are doing a romantic bit and it's a scene where I kiss her hand. I placed a very light kiss on her hand saying I Love You and suddenly someone opened the door.
• I looked the person and my heart skipped a bit. I couldn't believe she was here. I immediately left Artika's hand. For a second I panicked thinking whether she got to know it was me sending the letters. She looked so innocent with those frightful eyes, and her face covered by the red scarf.
• "Hey who are you? Don't you have any manners? Can't you knock the door?"
• She scolded as she was irritated that her favourite scene was disturbed.
• "I knocked the door but no one answered.", my Rudrani replied.
• Wait! Did I say My? Oh God! what is happening to me? Come on Ashutosh get a hold on yourself!!
• "That's because we are doing something very important! You should have waited till we opened the door!"Artika retorted.
• Before Artika starts making a mountain out this small molehill, I interrupted.
• "Hey it's okay, tell me what makes you come here?
• "Prerna madam asked me to meet Ashutosh sir for part time job" She said slowly.
• "Yeah, mom told to me too. Follow me" I said and went to my cabin.
• Rudrani stood looking down near the door.
• "Have a seat" I said and she sat on chair before me.
• "Your good name?"
• "Rudrani"
• "Did you bring your certificates and resume?"
• She gave her file to me. I checked her certificates. She is a topper in 10th, +2 and in MBBS 1st and 2nd year too. My eyes fallen on her photo. She is so cute with her eyes filled with innocence. I looked up at her once. Now I saw confidence and strength in her eyes. I felt she is more beautiful now than before. I asked her few more questions and gave her appointment order.
• "Thank you so much sir."
• "You can join from tomorrow. All the best" I said and gave handshake to her but she joined her hands thanking me in Namaste style.
• "Thank you sir"
• She left the place but still my heart didn't leave her thoughts. Why am I feeling as if I have some kind of a bond with this girl? I was never attracted to any girl and never fell in love. I don't like stuff like love but I am going mad seeing this girl and especially if I see her in tears, my heart just crumbles.
• Next day me and my friends went to hospital as it was a weekend and wanted to chill out. We were in my cabin and Artika asked me to switch on the TV. I switched on the TV in the cabin. Everyone wanted to see a movie which was being aired, they stopped me from changing channel. A scene arrived where the heroine was going on a guy's bike and was hiding her face seeing her parents with her dupatta.
• "Worst movie" I said
• "Hey Ashu, it's a hit movie. You should change your mindset"
• "Never ever. I just don't understand why this girl is betraying her own parents"
• "She is in love with him" Artika said.
• "It's not love Artika. Love should have guts. It's a responsibility of one another to keep each other happy forever. Roaming in the name of love is not necessary. What if he cheats her?" I said.
• "Man, you should grow up. She is not doing any crime" my friend said.
• "Ok, if she is not doing anything wrong, tell me one thing. Why did she hide her face. Why is she scared? Only the people who do wrong hide their face under a mask with guilty for their wrong doings" I said and looked at the door shockingly.
• I found Rudrani standing there with tears in her eyes and mask(scarf) on her face. Shut, what did I do? Why did I talk like that? She is going to misunderstand me!
• She turned back and then looked at me.
• "May I come in, sir?"
• "Ye.. Yes" I said.
• She came and gave her joining report. I looked at her for few seconds.
• "I am sorry, I didn't mean it that way about you"
• "I don't want your sympathy. But remember, hiding face doesn't mean they did some wrong. May be girls have to hide their faces to save themselves from beasts of this society. Being a boy who is born with a silver spoon, you may not understand that. Just think before you talk"
• "Sure, I will learn from you. I mean I will take tuition from you to know how to talk" I said irritated.
• Shit, why can't she understand what am I saying and the reason? When did I comment on girls? I just talked about the heroine in the film.
• "And you too learn to speak after knowing everything" I yelled at her.
• She glared at me and went off from my cabin.
• "Fire her from job Ashu" Artika said.
• "She is so proud yaar" Ahmed said.
• "Always self respect is mistook as pride in the case of girls" I said.
• "What? Are you supporting her? Unbelievable!" Artika said
• I smiled. I loved her anger and the way she yelled at me. I think I am totally falling for her.
• I went for rounds to check the patients as senior doctor instructed and I found my Mary Kom there. Her face is so serious and I thought to play with her for a while.
• "Hey love, what are you doing?" I asked her. She was busy writing down the case sheet of a patient.
• "What? Love?? Who is your love?" She shouted
• "You" I replied barely controlling my laughter. Oh God she is so adorable.
• "Are you insane?"
• "No, I am sane enough to make you my better half, my love" I replied with puppy eyes.
• "Better half, no way I would never marry a person who has no respect for girls"
• "My love, marry me and then teach me how to respect girls" I said holding the knee hammer as a bouquet in front of her bending a little.
• "You are an idiot, no one can teach you how to behave with girls" She said showing me her back and again immersing herself in her work.
• "Ok then fine, I will marry you and will teach you how to talk with me. You are the first person to yell at me, that too before my friends. Do you think I will leave you? Definitely I will teach you that it's not fun to keep with this Ashutosh. Definitely my anger will keep your mouth shut, once you marry me" I said and she opened her mouth wide and turned towards me.
• God, Ashutosh you have good talent of acting. Her expressions are so funny to watch.
• If I really marry her, that will be the moment where all her sorrows and bitter memories will vanish forever. I will teach and guide her how to face this bloody society and fight back the demons. I will not make her hide herself but be bold enough to fight against such people who try to take advantage of her situation. Am so happy that she is working here now. I can now keep a watch on her and help her out.
