Chapter 11: In which he takes her by surprise

• I came to with a start when I heard voices in my room.
• Did a burglar decide to break into an old, dingy, rundown apartment? If so, then maybe I can borrow something from him, since he must have already found out what a terrible mistake that was. How about I told him to pay my next month’s rent in return for not calling the cops?
• Exactly how delusional was I right now? I was supposed to be sick, not high. Was I actually thinking about making deals with a burglar? Someone who could possibly have a dangerous weapon on him and might end up doing horrible things to me?
