Chapter 7 How Can I Not Help

  • Lin Dong and An Xiaoxiao were rendered speechless.
  • Stunned, she jerked her head up and looked at Zhan Lengrui, whom she had regretted calling for help. For a moment, she thought she was having a hearing impairment.
  • What did he say? Change the principal? What does he mean?
  • Before An Xiaoxiao could react, Lin Dong's stammering voice rang in her ears, “Mr... Mr...”
  • The words 'Mr. Zhan' couldn't seem to form in his larynx.
  • He even thought of kneeling and begging for mercy when he realized that he had been a fool just now for badmouthing his niece openly.
  • However, Zhan Lengrui wasn't interested in listening to Lin Dong's explanation. Immediately, he grabbed An Xiaoxiao's small and delicate hand in his, turned around, and left the principal's office.
  • Ms. Chen who had been waiting outside called out to him at once when she saw them coming out.
  • Zhan Lengrui continued moving on with An Xiaoxiao as if he hadn't noticed her.
  • Ms. Chen's heart thumped. Thinking that An Xiaoxiao had been expelled, her face paled.
  • Suddenly, An Xiaoxiao turned around and smilingly waved at her. “See you tomorrow, Ms. Chen.”
  • Only then Ms. Chen exhaled in relief. After staring at the principal's office for a while, she pushed open the door to see Lin Dong sitting on the floor with a glazed look in his eyes.
  • Then the telephone on the desk rang.
  • Seeing that Lin Dong was unresponsive, Ms. Chen hesitated before going over to answer it.
  • Before she could utter a sound, a voice of immense fury came from the other end.
  • “Lin Dong, just how big a blunder have you committed to provoke Mr. Zhan? I don't care if you wish to die, but don't bury me and the school with you. Pack up and get the hell out!”
  • As Ms. Chen had the speakerphone turned on, Lin Dong heard the words clearly.
  • That was the school's largest shareholder and chairman of the board of the school. In other words, he, the principal, was nothing compared to the chairman.
  • And the chairman was nothing compared to Mr. Zhan.
  • It was at this point that Lin Dong realized he had messed with the God of Hell.
  • “Sir! Sir!” Lin Dong shot up to his feet and snatched the phone. “Sir, please help me. I would never dare to-”
  • “Leave! Don't make me repeat myself!” The chairman roared and hung up.
  • Lin Dong slumped onto the floor and Ms. Chen knew that he was done for this time.
  • After offending Mr. Zhan, he won't be able to get a foot in the education sector in the future. Xiaoxiao's uncle is too awesome!
  • An Xiaoxiao and Zhan Lengrui exited from the administration building.
  • A low-profile military jeep was parked at the entrance.
  • An Xiaoxiao knew that it was Zhan Lengrui's ride. She looked up at him and wondered if she should get in.
  • However, the most pressing matter right now was to free her hand from his.
  • “Uh, uncle.” An Xiaoxiao fidgeted, and it was obvious what she meant.
  • But Zhan Lengrui simply looked at her and led her over to the car. The chauffeur had already opened the door so he shoved her inside without a word.
  • An Xiaoxiao was confused. Do you have to be so rough? Are you angry or embarrassed because of me?
  • She had been very grateful and captivated by Zhan Lengrui, who domineeringly protected from the principal just now.
  • But now, An Xiaoxiao frowned and scooched inside.
  • Zhan Lengrui hopped in and sat beside her, his body emitting an indefinable aura.
  • The chauffeur then closed the door, got in the car and started the engine.
  • An Xiaoxiao took a glimpse at Zhan Lengrui's cold profile. Although she was dissatisfied, he had genuinely helped her after all so she shouldn't be ungrateful and resentful.
  • She silently cleared her throat and started, “Thanks for helping me, uncle.”
  • Zhan Lengrui looked sideways at her with his lips quirking up in a half-smile on his dashing face. “How can I not help when you blackmailed me about my size?”
