• When Jennifer got back home, Lucy was not there. Her heart felt heavy and stolen from her at the same time. The least thing she expected in her life was for someone like Donald who she loved dearly to betray her by seeing someone else. She dropped her luggage and fell on the floor. She had got a couple of beers from the roadside mall before entering the house. For someone who wasn't inclined to that kind of life, she started emptying the contents of the bottles one after the other with much ease.
• It was after the third bottle had gone halfway that the door flung open and Lucy walked in. On seeing Jennifer's situation, she stormed to her and snatched the bottle from her hand.
• Jennifer belched, giving off a breath filled with the stench of alcohol.
