Chapter 24 Getting To Know

• Katie's POV
• I immediately ran away the moment Vlad said yes. I know sooner or later he'll change his mind. That is why I did not hesitate, even for a moment, and scurried to find something to eat and drink. I was extremely thirsty the whole time. Kath jumped up and down when we heard something like water running. A stream! We were amazed by the sight. I always thought the vampire domain was gloomy and eerie; maybe it is just a make-believe. Perhaps that was just me watching too many movies. I ran to the stream and happily drank the water, as it was so fresh. I also wolfed out and leaped so that I could wash away some dirt in me. Vlad's addicting and intoxicating scent makes me a bit insecure. How do I smell? Maybe I'll ask him later if I have the courage. I had so much fun talking and spending some quality time with Lucifer. Kath and I sensed that he was still hiding something, but I wouldn't push him further. The last thing I would want is to ask him something that forces him to share just because I'm his mate. I'll let him be the one to open up with me in his own time, but I know whatever it is, I'll still accept him wholly for who he is.
• In this part of the terrain, I can smell a variety of wild beasts. Some are familiar, like chickens, rabbits, leopards, and other cat species, but I can smell other kinds as well. It also isn't a vampire since I can already familiarize myself with their general scent, one that specifies their kind since there is also an individual and unique scent that solely belongs to that person. Maybe there's some mermaids here? Witches and warlocks?
