Chapter 21 Viscountess Of The South
- Katie's POV
- Vlad would not let me go until he felt that I calmed down. I thanked him for everything thus far; he nodded, and I noticed he was a bit lethargic. When I asked him if he was okay, he refused to answer at first but later on admitted that he used up almost all of his power just to come to me, and the incident happened earlier with the blood-red dome, and him rewriting a lot of memories forced him to completely use up almost all of his energy. He added that it may take awhile before he replenishes his strength.
- I was going to let him rest, but we heard some rustling of bushes. I sensed a powerful entity nearby, and my suspicions were confirmed when I heard Vlad quietly cuss. Through the special bond that we have, I can feel his emotions. He was anxious and scared, but not for his own safety instead of mine. He instantly but quietly compelled himself to stand up, and we hid deeper in the branches that were covered up with some leaves to hide us in plain sight. Vlad staggered for a bit, and I pinned him over at the branch with both of my hands at the side of his shoulders so that we would not fall. I saw his adam's apple move, and because of that, it seemed like he swallowed down a huge lump of water. His red eyes, both bloody and bright, intensely looked at my gaze, then he slither his blistering stares at my nose and slowly going down at my lips. I was heating up. I can feel his breath and was unconsciously breathing at the same pace as him. I froze, staying in place, waiting for him to make his move. He bit his lips as if trying to stop himself from having a taste of something that he really wants. I opened my mouth to say something, but that's when a silverlike dagger flew by us and scathed Vlad's cheeks. Blood was dripping across his pale skin, and he wasn't healing! He used too much energy in teleporting, fighting Alpha Fredrick, wiping out their memories, and that dome. I silently cursed.
