• “What is this offer about exactly?” I said as swallowed the lump that threatened to close off my airway at the mention of Nolan’s name.
• He nodded like I had asked the right question. “You come in to work for Grayson under a contract for a year, you will be paid quite well and an appropriate wardrobe will be provide besides that. You get visibility and if you decide you do not want to work for him after the contract ends, you would have enough recommendations to get you whatever job you covet.”
• I was still confused. “Okay…” I shifted in my seat discreetly but I was sure he caught the movement easily with how intensely he was staring at me. “You say all that, Mr. Rhoades but I’m yet to see the reason you brought this to me of all people. Why you came here to one of the most closed off place in the city and why you mentioned Nolan.”
