- We had spent two hours now trying to dissect why Matthias Rhoades—the Vice President of Wolfe Enterprises—was in our neighborhood at ten in the fucking morning on a Friday. Well I was trying to understand, Mira was busy texting and giggling to whatever said man was telling her over the phone.
- “Why would he even be here, Mira?” I huffed for the fiftieth time while Mira giggled again with her phone so close to her face, it seemed like she was begging to thing to swallow her whole.
- “Mira.” I snapped when Mira threw her head back and laughed even louder than before. She was doing this intentionally, that was for sure.
