Chapter 9 Open Up

  • Ruanruan was elated that she had managed to eat fried chicken behind her strict father's back. She had clung to Ruan Cheng's leg all the way back to the hotel room.
  • It was not easy to walk with a child clinging on to your leg.
  • Somehow, she managed to limp back to the room.
  • “It's late. I'll send you back to your rooms to sleep,” Ruan Cheng told the twins, who were watching cartoons in her room.
  • Anan looked up. “We don't have the key.”
  • Ruanruan's chubby hand embraced Ruan Cheng and fell asleep.
  • How am I supposed to send them back without the key? She was conflicted.
  • She had no idea when the President would finish his work and return to the hotel.
  • “I'll call Mr. Dong,” Ruan Cheng glanced at Ruanruan, who was falling asleep on her lap. She could not move without waking her, so she asked Anan to get her phone instead.
  • Anan passed Ruan Cheng's phone over to her.
  • She promptly asked her colleagues for Dong Liyan's work number.
  • Dong Liyan picked up the phone almost immediately, but he replied, “Sorry to trouble you Ms. Ruan, but Mr. Mu is having dinner with a few governors and won't be done for a while. Do you mind letting them sleep in your room tonight?”
  • Ruan Cheng, “...”
  • Ruan Cheng put the two kids to bed at around 10pm.
  • Anan took the left of the bed, while Ruanruan slept on the right side.
  • They were sleeping soundly.
  • Ruan Cheng quietly tidied up the bathroom and arranged the children's clothes neatly on the sofa. She covered the blanket over Ruanruan, and silently crept on the bed.
  • Fortunately, the bed was big enough.
  • More than enough for one adult and two children.
  • Within five minutes, Ruan Cheng had slept like a log.
  • ...
  • In the dead of the night.
  • Ruan Cheng's phone vibrated under her pillow.
  • Her eyelids were still heavy. She managed to open her eyes and get up, picking up her phone.
  • It was a string of unfamiliar numbers.
  • 139-0909-9999.
  • It was quite a nice number, considering it was a nuisance call!
  • Ruan Cheng picked it up and asked straight to the point, “Who are you looking for?”
  • “Open up. It's me,” a hoarse and deep male voice came from the phone. In the middle of the night, it was especially scary.
  • “Open up? Who are you?” She was tired.
  • The other end of the phone turned silent, and only the sound of breathing remained.
  • Ruan Cheng took a few moments to react. She saw the two kids under the dim moonlight, Anan and Ruanruan...
  • “M-Mr. Mu?” she asked.
  • “Open up!” the man's voice grew even deeper.
  • Ruan Cheng's heart nearly stopped from fright as she scrambled off the bed. She straightened out her pajamas and made sure they were presentable before she opened the door.
  • The boss came to take his children back. How could I drag him on so long because I was asleep! Ruan Cheng thought in frustration.
  • The two kids were sleeping soundly, and showed no trace of waking up.
  • Ruan Cheng opened the door.
  • Mu Chenjue stood tall and upright outside the door. His eyes were closed and he was supporting himself with one hand on the door frame. He had a piece of outerwear on one hand and the phone that he just used to call her, and it was obvious that he had been waiting.
  • “Mr. Mu...” Ruan Cheng greeted him, but did not dare to get close.
  • Mu Chenjue looked up with a tired expression. He frowned at her. Although he was clearly drunk, it did not obscure his charisma. It seemed as though nothing could dampen his dignified aura.
  • Mu Chenjue glanced at her, but this one glance felt like he had been staring at her for a long while.
  • He did not say anything.
  • Ruan Cheng stepped aside to let him in and take his children.
  • When he walked past her, she could smell that he reeked of alcohol, mixed with a strong smell of nicotine.
  • Ruan Cheng stood by the door, and did not dare to move or look.
  • The lights by the corridor were dazzling.
  • All the sleepiness was completely driven out of her system. She stood by the door like a guard, with the door open, waiting for the boss to bring his children out.
  • Time was ticking.
  • Ruan Cheng did not even hear the two kids waking up.
  • She closed the door in confusion, and slowly made her way to her bedroom.
  • Only a small bedside lamp was turned on, and it was not as glaring as the corridor.
  • Under the dim lighting was a heartwarming sight.
  • Her bed had been completely taken over by this family of three. The father who had just returned from a busy day of work slept along with his son and daughter.
  • Should I wake him up?
  • If I wake him up, will the boss fire me in a fit of rage?
  • But if I don't, where will I sleep?
  • She pondered for a while, and decided that it was too risky to chase this drunk man out of her room.
  • She put on a jacket and left the room.
  • She took her room key with her, and called the female colleague who was here with her.
  • “Sorry, the user of this number has turned off her phone...” the automated message played from her phone.
  • Ruan Cheng leaned against the wall of the corridor, restless.
  • She had forgotten to ask her female colleague which room she stayed in.
  • After thinking about it, she dialed Dong Liyan.
  • No one picked up the phone after a long while. He was probably drunk as well!
  • Ruan Cheng had no choice but to book another room.
  • However, the service counter replied, “I'm sorry Ms. Ruan, but there are no empty rooms left. All rooms have to be booked at least one week prior.”
  • “Oh, thanks.” Ruan Cheng was filled with confusion as she returned to her room.
  • Should she wait outside the room the entire night?
  • At around 1 a.m., the lift door opened.
  • A man and two women came out.
  • The two women were wearing heavy makeup, and the man was dressed in full denim. His head was full of scars, and he had an intimidating look. He kissed the two women in his arms, and they laughed.
  • As he saw Ruan Cheng, he pulled his gaze away from the two women in his arms. He approached her, “What a lonely beauty we have here? Where are you from? Care to join us for a foursome? I guarantee that I'll make you feel good!”
  • “You're crazy!” Ruan Cheng scolded, and escaped into her room like a rabbit hiding into a hole.
  • She leaned against the door and took a deep breath.
  • The person outside the door knocked a few times, and the knocking was neither loud nor soft. Ruan Cheng was scared out of her wits and did not dare to stay by the door, and turned towards the bathroom instead.
  • She had always been timid, and this situation had caused her heart to start beating out of her chest.
  • Before she could process what happened outside, she felt a pair of warm and large hands reach out from behind. They went beneath her clothing from below her outerwear, and continued to feel its way up.
  • She turned back in fright.
  • Before she knew it, the bathroom's wooden door had opened, and she lost her balance, falling into the man's arms.
  • “Ah...” she screamed as she looked down. Soon after, the scream turned into a moan with a hint of pleasure, “Mmm...”
  • The bathroom was dark, and humid from steam.
  • The only grown man in the hotel room was the boss, Mu Chenjue. The identity of the man who pushed her against the wall was not hard to guess.
  • Ruan Cheng frowned and pushed him aside, but she could not free herself from his grip.
  • Struggling only caused increased contact and aroused a warmth not caused by friction.
  • In this heated situation, the man pounced on her, and went in for the kiss. He fervently rubbed and grinded against her lips, and her lips seemed to burn with every action.
  • She had leapt out of the frying pan and into the fire.
  • Ruan Cheng was afraid, but she was unable to scream with her lips occupied.
  • With a man kissing her fervently in a mysterious and dark night, Ruan Cheng was in a steamy situation. She held her breath, but the sounds of protest eventually faded into a faint pleasure.
  • These faint sounds only seemed to fuel the man's carnal desires.
