Chapter 14 Mama, I Miss You

  • "Alright now. Let's hurry, get in the car and head back home for some rest."
  • Mrs. Huo grabbed Jiang Mucheng and continued asking questions. Huo Ciyi cut off what Mrs. Huo was about to say with that, and then called the driver to ask him to wait for them.
  • Mrs. Huo and Mr. Huo sat in Huo Yuchuan's car, so Jiang Mucheng sat in Huo Ciyi's car.
  • When Jiang Mucheng sat in Huo Ciyi's car, the atmosphere was frighteningly quiet.
  • It took almost an hour's journey from the airport to the Huo family home. Jiang Mucheng always felt like if she didn't say something, then things would be even more awkward. So, she hesitated for a moment, but still ended up speaking.
  • "I've signed the contract. Have you seen it?"
  • Huo Ciyi didn't show too much emotion, but replied with a single, "Mhm."
  • Jiang Mucheng opened her mouth, hoping to actually explain why Huo Ciyi and her were getting a divorce. She was certain that they could get a divorce, as long as they told Mr. and Mrs. Huo about the misunderstandings that happened a few years ago. But just as the words reached the tip of her tongue, she didn't say it in the end. She thought about the three words that Huo Ciyi replied with, "Have some shame," and suddenly remembered Huo Ciyi's attitude towards her three years ago.
  • He was disgusted by her. He believed that she cheated on him, so he left.
  • But she didn't quite understand Huo Ciyi. He clearly didn't love her, and yet for the past few years, he didn't divorce her and pushed it on the fact that Mr. and Mrs. Huo would be heartbroken.
  • Then, why did he bother protecting her reputation?
  • Jiang Mucheng wanted to say something, but then her phone rang, she couldn't.
  • Jiang Mucheng looked at the unknown number on the screen suspiciously, but took the call anyway.
  • The voice on the other line turned out to be Liang Keke's.
  • "Jiang Mucheng, I posted a few wedding dress photos on Weibo. Help me pick out a wedding dress that suits me and one that Yi would like. You and Yi were married, so you know Yi the best. Won't you help me?"
  • "You must still have my Weibo. You didn't delete me did you? Quickly, go check it out. If you haven't, then search for 'Kekeisthecutest' on Weibo."
  • After she said that, Liang Keke hung up without even waiting for Jiang Mucheng to reply with whether she was going to help or not.
  • Jiang Mucheng wasn't interested in helping Liang Keke pick out a wedding dress that Huo Ciyi would like. However, she still opened Liang Keke's weibo out of curiosity.
  • She sent the wedding dress photos that morning with a photo of a ring.
  • Huo Ciyi really couldn't wait. She received Huo Ciyi's divorce papers at three in the morning and now, Liang Keke was picking out wedding dresses already...
  • It felt like she was being rushed out the door with a broom.
  • Jiang Mucheng finished looking at those wedding dress photo's and felt annoyed, so she replied to Liang Keke with two simple sentences. "They're all good. Huo Ciyi likes revealing clothes."
  • After she sent the message, her stifled heart felt a little better.
  • Just as she was about happily put her phone back into her bag, her phone suddenly rang.
  • The phone came from Auntie Zhang from inside her house.
  • For a second there, Jiang Mucheng contemplated whether or not to pick it up. She turned to glance over at Huo Ciyi, who concentrated on driving, and figured that he shouldn't be able to overhear her call.
  • She was worried that something happened at home, so she took the call.
  • "Marmar, marmar... where did you go? Urur wants mama."
  • That was Jiang Erer natural quirk, which sounded particularly clear when she pronounced her words. She was called Erer, but she would change it to sound like "Urur".
  • Jiang Mucheng named her children in the order they were brith. The first was called Yi and the second started with "Er".
