Chapter 5 Invitation to a frat party

• FINLAY HIGH SCHOOL
• "Ouch!” Jovy groaned in pain and she jerked at the touch of the methylated spirit on her skin.
• They were seated in the gym changing room and had skipped the first period of class. Due to Alice’s insistence, Jovy had been forced to tell her the truth about what was wrong with her. Alice had forgotten she made a promise to Jovy and had almost ran wild looking for Amelia. But knowing how much trouble that would cause her, Jovy had pleaded fervently for Alice to let it go and in her response Alice insisted on seeing the wounds and also help to treat her.
• Alice kissed her teeth. “Keep quiet and sit still."
• Jovy rolled her eyes and sniffed. “Okay, as your lordship pleases."
• Nursing on each scar the whip had left on Jovy’s body brought tears to Alice’s eyes. She wondered what the poor girl did to deserve the awful treatment she keeps getting from her own father.
• Jovy Finlay is a sweet girl and she is too pure and innocent too. However, it seems most of the pack members including her family only sees her entire being as a waste of time. Just because she has a deficiency, they concluded that she wasn't worthy of being associated with.
• Every time, Alice always wished she had the ability to help her friend out of her sorrowful moments. However, she knew just what to do as payback to Amelia for messing with her best friend and Jovy doesn't need to know about it.
• "Earth to Alice...hello!" Jovy called out when she noticed Alice had lingered on one spot and didn't move beyond that.
• Alice jolted out of her thought. “Hey don't speak too loud."
• Jovy laughed lightly. “Oh really?”
• "How do on earth do you choose laugh in this kind of situation?!” Alice almost sounded like a rat caught up in between the door.
• Jovy turned to face her and held on to her shaky hands. As funky and brave Alice appeared to be, she is quite emotional and cries when she feels deeply shaken by a situation. She is extremely soft hearted.
• "I have learnt to accept the fate bestowed upon me by the Moon Goddess. All I need to do is avoid them as much as I can." She said.
• Alice sniffed. “Promise me you would let me know if you can't take it anymore."
• Jovy nodded her head before she pulled her best friend in for a hug. "I solemnly swear."
• Alice couldn’t help the laughter that escaped her throat. “Oh please get off me!" She packed up their bags as the bell for the next period came on. They both stepped out of the gym room.
• "That reminds me, there is a rich kids college frat party I got invited to uptown. You are coming with me." Alice stated.
• Jovy shook her head in refusal. “Hell no, I am not going to any party. My dad would kill me."
• "That's if he finds out. That man doesn't even want to see your face. You think he would notice you being missing for a few hours?"
• "You are right. But Amelia would make it a point of duty to make him notice." Jovy replied.
• "How about you just have a sleep over at my place then. Listen at this point, you need to go out and have fun! And it will really help relieve the tension in your muscles.”
• "Still, it is a college party, Alice. We have heard stories of how they go." She said in a tight whisper.
• "Trust me to always roll with the best, this party is safe and only people with class are invited. These are children of fucking rich werewolves and humans who are super fun and exciting. Don't you want to get a chance to have such fun in your lifetime? Come have fun with me mama!” Alice pouted as she grabbed on to her arm.
• “Alice—“
• "Don't be such a killjoy!”
• Jovy shook her head as she laughed. It was typical of Alice to hype a party on a weekday not caring about her assignments and missing out on classes. Alice's parents funded all of her excesses, just like Tommy Finlay pays every bill in relation to Amelia. unlike Jovy who had to work her butt off doing part time jobs to pay her student loan. Aside the tortures she was receiving at home, Tommy had totally ignored her and refused to do anything to take care of her. Jovy worked at a diner place after school every day for five hours.
• Partying was out of the picture for Jovy but having a friend like Alice made it sound like it was essential to living. Amelia was no exception. Her grades don't matter to her, all she cares about is being the life of the party and getting hailed by everyone.
• "It won't kill you to try this just once. You might never get this chance again." Alice tried to enlighten her, becoming agitated by the passing minute.
• After thinking for a few minutes, Jovy heaved a sigh. "Fine, I will try to make it after watching out for the witch."
• "I would be waiting at the back of the house for you." Alice kissed her quickly on the cheek. “I will head to class now, I have notes to catch up on." She said, walking in a hurry down the hall.
• Alice’s attitude surprised Jovy because her best friend was never keen on heading to class. She was always whining about how draining it was and that she doesn’t like studying one bit. Jovy looked around as she head to her own class. This is the perfect time she loves to walk the school premises, whenever there is practically no one around to mock her or jeer at her.
• Deep down, Jovy really hoped she wasn't making a wrong decision by accepting to go with Alice to the frat party. Remembering the scar on her body, she snorted. Even when she didn't do anything she got beaten for it but she might as well get away with this one as much as she can. Raising her head up, she increased her pace towards the next class she had.

• Alice grinned widely to herself as she sat down in her chair, focusing on the board like her life depended on it. She couldn't help to act natural because it made her feel so good indulging in the act. There was one thing she and Amelia had in common and that was the courses they picked out. They both have classes on literature. When she had left Jovy at the hallway, she had sneaked out to the school garage to deflate the four tires of Amelia's precious car. One of the things Amelia cherished the most aside Jared her mate was her car. The expensive shit had her feeling fly. Alice couldn't wait to see Amelia’s reaction when she gets to know of what she had done.
• After the class which gave way to their recess, everyone began running around just as Alice strolled majestically towards the car park. Students stood around whispering to each other, as Amelia let out an hysterical scream continuously on noticing the condition of her car.
• Alice mentally high five herself. “Serves you right bitch! That's what you get for messing with my best friend!” She gritted to herself.
• "Did you know about this?" Jovy asked behind her, making Alice almost jump out of her skin.
• Alice placed a hand on her chest. “What the hell Jovy? You scared me! I didn’t do anything wrong.”
• Jovy folded her hands together. “If you are not hiding anything then why would you be scared?” Jovy indirectly accused her best friend with a raised eyebrow.
• Alice tilted her head to the back and gave a cute smile. “When I told you I wouldn't go after her, I never mentioned that I wouldn't touch her things. I just said not her." She shrugged.
• Jovy gave a half smile. “Believe me she would skin you alive when she gets to know."
• "This skin?" Alice asked, touching her skin. “She dare not mess with me! That is never going to happen. I am as tough as leather."
• Somehow Jovy felt relieved. "You bet." She replied as they laughed together while leaving the scene.
