Chapter 40 Talking With Damien

• I covered the plates in foil and took two bottles of water as I walked through the attic and up the latter leading to the roof. Damien was sitting there, and saw me, but didn't move. Small progress, I suppose. I took his food out of the bag I had along with his water and handed it to him. He looked at it then back up to me.
• "Please take this plate. It is hot" I told him, looking into his silver eyes. He sighed, then took the plate away from me and the water. I walked to the opposite side of the roof, knowing he did not want me too close to him. He looked at me and I pretended not to notice as I sat down and pulled out my food, starting to eat. The view of the pack land could be seen from here and under the moonlight, it really was beautiful. We stayed silent for a while, eating, and looking out onto the pack land. I decided to break the silence. I looked at him. He was lying down on his back with his eyes closed after he had finished eating, with his hands behind his head. He looked at peace.
