Chapter 37 Ending Emma

• I knew. I don't know how, but I fucking knew something was off. My mind was foggy after last night's dinner disaster from finding out Ember was my mate. I felt an instant connection with her, and I hated myself for it. I hated her presence, but when my mom attacked her, those feelings went away. A deep need to protect her replaced it, and I hated myself even more for it. Enough to leave after knowing she would be in good hands. The beast in me wanted to rip at my mother's throat and drink her until death. My mother is a bitch, but she did not deserve how I felt last night towards her. I would not let a human come between us. I had to leave. Clear my head. I went to the only place I knew that would make me feel better. Black Diamond. Other than bringing species together, Black Diamond was the only place known for having what we call, givers. Givers were humans who were aware of the supernatural and allowed them to feed from their blood.
• Givers were taken care of and lived at the Black Diamond on the top floor. They were required to register their names with the council of the Delphi, which was the high council of the supernatural species of the USA, so they were protected. The staff made sure they kept their blood clean so as to not poison any of the drinkers, which were those that consumed the giver's blood. A giver carried BD on their arms in the form of a tattoo with a diamond around the letters, which signified who they were in the club, so when one of the staff of Black Diamond brought the giver to me, I did not think to question it. I took her wrist, and she gave it to me willingly, wanting to please me, as all givers do. My staff member was new and told me her name was Emma. She said the feeder she gave me was one she took care of herself. I didn't care to hear her story, as the blood the giver supplied was intoxicating.
