Chapter 5 Find Me That Woman!
- Milicent had no chance to refuse at all. Master Fulbright had decided. He waved, signaling for her to leave.
- Although Milicent was hesitant, she decided to quit her job. She complied with Master Fulbright's instructions to not expose her true identity and to avoid causing unnecessary disputes.
- The following day, Master Fulbright stepped in and instructed Hansel to take Milicent to the company. "I know why you don't want to hire an assistant, but since Mary is already your wife, let her stay by your side to take care of you."
- Milicent thought it was strange that Master Fulbright spoke to Hansel in the same tone that he talked to her. What's going on? I thought they had a good relationship. Milicent sensed someone glaring sharply at her when she was deep in thought. She immediately knew who it was.
- Hansel stared at her disdainfully. "Sure." Milicent was somewhat surprised because she thought he would refuse. "Alright. Go on." Master Fulbright's facial expression softened slightly. Hansel sat in his wheelchair indifferently while Gary nodded at Master Fulbright. "Master Fulbright, we'll be heading to the office."
- "Take Mary with you." Milicent had no choice but to follow Hansel. After leaving the lounge, Hansel turned to Milicent in the garden and said scornfully, "You've established such a good relationship with Grandpa so quickly! Are you trying to keep an eye on me?" Milicent stopped in her tracks, and she frowned. "I don't understand what you're saying."
- "Heh." Hansel sneered. "It better stay that way. Otherwise…" Hansel didn't finish his sentence, but Milicent knew it was a threat. She was furious. She had quit her job because of him, and she was now obligated to follow him around. They had initially agreed not to get involved with each other, but they were now forced to stay together. She was annoyed about the situation as well.
- They walked to the door in silence. Hansel, who was in his wheelchair, was lifted into his car. When Milicent instinctively crouched down and was about to get into the car, Gary reached out to stop her. "Ms. Rich, this is Mr. Hansel's private vehicle."
- Milicent was taken aback. "What do you mean?" Hansel turned to look at her, his calm, deep eyes filled with disdain. "You're still not qualified to be my assistant." Upon hearing this, Milicent's expression changed. "Then why didn't you say anything to Grandpa just now?" Hansel ignored her and looked away. As Gary was about to close the car door, Milicent reached out to stop him. She asked Hansel, "What should I do if you leave? What should I tell Grandpa…"
- When Milicent mentioned Master Fulbright, Hansel's eyes gleamed. He narrowed his eyes and stared at her threateningly. "Gary, tell her the route and let her walk there!" Milicent was dumbstruck. How can such an awful person exist? Gary informed her of the route nonchalantly and shut the car door indifferently.
- Hansel glanced icily at the petite figure standing at the gate through the rearview mirror before looking away. A moment later, he thought of something and asked quietly, "Any news regarding the woman I asked you to look for?"
- Gary answered apologetically, "Mr. Hansel, there weren't any surveillance cameras on that road. It also happened to rain heavily that day, and it was too dark to see the passersby clearly. But if you give me more time, I can learn more."
- Hansel's demeanor turned frostier when he heard it. A sharp expression flickered across his expression. "It's been a month. She should be pregnant now if it was part of the woman's schemes."
- Gary was startled. Is an unknown woman pregnant with Mr. Hansel's child? That's not something to be taken lightly! Gary had a grave expression. "I understand. I'll arrange for someone to keep watch at the hospital."
- Hansel closed his eyes. He had never been anyone until that night when he slept with that woman. Therefore, he had to find her at all costs!
