Chapter 7 Why Don't You Use Her?

  • Hansel entered the meeting room, followed by Milicent. Everyone was astonished to see her. They knew Gary had been the only one to serve Hansel all these years. Now that a woman appeared by Hansel's side out of nowhere, everyone was guessing what relationship this woman had with him.
  • This wasn't Milicent's first time working as an assistant, but she had never witnessed such a grand scene. Fulbright Group's meeting room was extremely spacious. After all, Fulbright Group was the leading company in Onyxville.
  • Milicent felt the tension in the room when she entered. Her shoulders tensed unconsciously as she entered behind Gary and Hansel while everyone stared at her. When they stopped, everyone fixed their gaze on Milicent.
  • "Mr. Hansel, who is this?" Jarold was Fulbright Group's vice president, so he was also naturally at the meeting. He was surprised when he saw Milicent enter.
  • Milicent gripped her clothes nervously and tried to compose herself. She gradually raised her head and found a gentle gaze among the others' probing stares. It was Jarold. He smiled warmly at Milicent as their eyes met, and he nodded at her. Milicent didn't feel as nervous after that. Her lips pursed into a smile as she beamed at Jarold. She thought Jarold was indeed a gentle person.
  • Despite how small and insignificant their actions were, Hansel noticed it. A cold expression flashed across his eyes, and he narrowed his eyes sharply. "My care worker."
  • "Huh?" Everyone was confused. What does he mean by care worker? Even Milicent was perplexed.
  • "Mr. Hansel, who did you say she was?"
  • Hansel had a stormy gaze as he raised his brows slightly and answered, "My grandfather hired a care worker for me to take care of my daily needs." Upon listening to such nasty remarks, Milicent's face gradually paled. She looked down at Hansel. I'm clearly here to be his assistant. When did I become his care worker?
  • "Coffee," Hansel said coldly while Milicent was still in a daze and rooted to her spot. She only came to her senses when Gary glanced at her. Then, she quickly left the meeting room to make coffee. The meeting had already started when she returned, so she placed the coffee before Hansel. After taking a sip, Hansel frowned. "Too sweet! Make another cup!"
  • Soon, everyone in the meeting room kept hearing Hansel nitpicking.
  • "It's tasteless!"
  • "Too hot!"
  • "Too cold!"
  • Milicent went back and forth countless times just for a cup of coffee. Hansel publicly humiliated her in the meeting room, and Milicent felt ashamed as everyone stared at her. As she was about to lose her temper, she thought of her family. She restrained herself and went to make another cup.
  • 'Thud!' The coffee cup fell heavily on the table, startling everyone in the room. "Is this all you're capable of? Do you think you can be my care worker like this?" Milicent stood in her spot with an ashen expression. Jarold, who was sitting nearby, frowned slightly. He couldn't help but speak up. "Hansel, that's too much."
  • Oh? Is Jarold defending her? This woman is so devious! The corners of Hansel's lips curled into a sneer. "Are you feeling bad for my care worker, Jarold? Why don't you use her instead?"
  • Milicent bit her lips, and her fingers trembled. He's gone over the line! Now I know why he agreed to let me stay. It's so he can humiliate me! He probably thinks I'm a woman who will stop at nothing to marry a rich person. That's why he hates me so much!
  • "Hansel, why are you like this? After all, she's still your…" Before Jarold could expose her as Hansel's wife, Gary interrupted coldly. "Mr. Hansel is just asking her to make coffee. Mr. Fulbright, don't you think you've meddled too much?"
  • Jarold seemed like he wanted to continue defending Milicent. Still, she quickly blurted out before he could say anything, "I'll make another cup of coffee for Mr. Hansel." After that, she left the meeting room.
  • Milicent made cup after cup of coffee as the meeting progressed. She had been running back and forth from the meeting room to the pantry during the entire meeting. Hansel was dissatisfied with all the coffee Milicent made, yet she didn't complain. She was still making coffee even when the meeting had ended.
  • Even Gary, standing at the side, began to feel bad for her. Seeing everyone in the room had left, he went to Hansel's side and whispered, "Mr. Hansel, why don't you let her off the hook? I think we've taught her a lesson." Hansel sneered. "Women like her won't give up if I don't teach her a lesson." He wanted to see how much more she could take.
  • Milicent couldn't remember how many cups of coffee she had made. She was worn out and almost couldn't take it. Hansel was nowhere to be seen when she served another cup of coffee to the meeting room.
  • Did he leave before accepting a cup of coffee from me? Milicent placed the coffee cup on the table and turned to leave. As she reached the first floor, she saw Hansel's car leaving Fulbright Group. She was being left behind once again!
