Chapter 2 Please Me
- The man had a sharp gaze. He had a tall nose under his deep eyes, and his thin lips were pursed into a slight sneer. Although sitting in a wheelchair, he was aggressive and intimidating, making him unapproachable.
- So this is the man who's rumored to have a repulsive appearance? Milicent was slightly stunned. As the atmosphere turned tense, she quickly sat up from bed while covering herself with the comforter. She avoided his gaze and said guiltily, "O-Of course I'm Mary…"
- "Heh." Hansel's gaze grew colder as he took an envelope from his pocket and threw it before Milicent, who picked it up carefully and opened it, only to find it full of photos and information about her younger sister, Mary Fulbright. So, he knew my true identity from the very beginning? Milicent's grip on the envelope tightened slightly as she bit her lower lip. She glanced at Hansel silently with her black, bright eyes.
- "Did the Rich family think they could fool me just because I'm crippled?"
- Milicent looked down and defended herself softly, "I'm also the Rich family's daughter…"
- "The daughter who just got divorced? Does the Rich family think the Fulbright family settles for leftovers?" Hansel's gaze turned frosty. His sarcastic and blunt remarks reminded Milicent of the terrifying night a month ago. She bit her lower lip tightly so the pain would stop her from losing self-control.
- Before she could calm down, the man's icy voice rang again. "I'll give you five minutes to get out of Fulbright Residence." Milicent was aghast. "What?" She looked up into his dark eyes.
- The Fulbright family would hold a grudge against the Rich family if she were chased out. Her entire family depended on her. Even if she was reluctant to stay, she would be singlehandedly ruining the Rich family. She couldn't just watch helplessly.
- After composing herself, Milicent plucked up the courage to look straight at him and say, "I know your parents arranged this marriage. You don't really care who you marry. Otherwise, you wouldn't have agreed to this marriage. Rather than marrying someone else, you should let me stay. I promise I won't get involved in your life."
- Milicent raised her hand as if taking an oath. Her eyes were filled with determination, but she had a cautious expression, as if she was afraid he wouldn't accept her proposal. She looks like... Hansel narrowed his eyes as he sized her up. In the end, his thin lips curled into a smile. "Do you really want to stay that badly?"
- As Milicent looked at him, her heart sank. She had a bad premonition, but she still nodded.
- The corners of Hansel's lips curled contemptuously. He thought Milicent was a greedy woman who wanted to take her sister's place and marry into the Fulbright family in hopes of prosperity and wealth. It wasn't his first time encountering such women.
- His gaze was fixed on the woman on the bed as he said, "I'll give you a chance to stay…" As Milicent's eyes lit up, the man continued viciously. "If you please me." Milicent was rooted to her spot as she stared at the man beside the bed in disbelief.
- "What's the matter? Don't you understand?" Hansel said derisively, "Don't tell me a divorced woman doesn't know how to please a man."
- Upon hearing what he said, Milicent clenched her fists tightly. She was indeed married to Fred Lothrop for two years, but he had always claimed to be busy to avoid sleeping with her. But on that fateful night a month ago, she caught Fred intertwined with an enchanting pregnant woman on their bed. Everything else had gone downhill from that moment…
- "Speak!" Her silence had obviously made Hansel lose his patience. He reached out to tear off the comforter she was covering herself with, instantly revealing the woman's fair body… "Ah!"
