Chapter 6 Private Information 1

  • "This is perfect. Are you the one that did all this by yourself?" Scott asked raising an eyebrow. He knew that Jennifer could not have done the document all by herself because she was still a new intern.
  • "Yes sir, with a few pointers from Matthew," she answered.
  • "Okay, that’s good work," he said.
  • "Thank you, sir. Can I leave now?" Jennifer asked.
  • "Of course, you can," he answered, as he glanced at her.
  • Jennifer walked out of his office.
  • I thought I would have had to terminate her internship. Good thing she was smart, Scott thought.

  • Later in the evening at Rockwell Art Enterprises, Jennifer was sitting in Mr. Rockwell’s office waiting for him to arrive, minutes later. Mr. Rockwell walked into the office, he has blonde hair, with deep blue eyes, he is 35 years old, as soon as Jennifer noticed he was inside the office, she stood up,
  • “Welcome back sir,” Jennifer said, as she did a half bow.
  • Mr. Rockwell walked around the desk and sat down.
  • “Thanks,” Mr. Rockwell replied.
  • Mr. Rockwell clasped his hand on his desk,
  • “So, how are you settling in at our opposition’s office?” Mr. Rockwell asked with a straight face.
  • “I am blending in just fine,” she answered.
  • “What else, do you have any news for me?” He inquired.
  • “First of all before I tell you what I have on the company, I need to tell you what happened. I made an honest mistake on a sale at the convention Mr. Scott had in his company the other day,
  • “I made him lose ten thousand dollars. after I realized the mistake, I apologized to him, he claimed to have accepted my apology, but instead he is now keeping an eye on me, I think he is going to be monitoring my every move now,” she stated.
  • “What the hell! why would you make a mistake, you are supposed to stay off his radar,” Mr. Rockwell snapped.
  • “I know boss, but he thinks I am a newbie, so the mistake is fine,” she assured.
  • “Okay, whatever you say. Tell me what is the information you have on him?” he asked raising an eyebrow.
  • She reached in her purse and brought out a piece of paper and handed it to Mr. Rockwell.
  • Mr. Rockwell read through the piece of paper,
  • “Wow, this is awesome, it contains the list of his top client, good work Jennifer,” Mr. Rockwell complimented with a smile on his face.
  • “Thanks,” she replied.
  • “Wait, how did you get this list?” he asked raising a curious eyebrow.
  • “I got it from his secretary, she gave it to me to arrange for her, so I made an extra copy,” She answered.
  • “That’s good work,” Mr. Rockwell said with a warm smile.
  • “Thanks, and don’t ask me how I got any information again, it is my job to get you what you need, so just trust me,” she replied.
  • "I trust you. Don’t forget your main objective is to get the company ownership papers," he stated.
  • "Of course, I will keep working on that," she replied.
  • "All right, you can take your leave now," Mr. Rockwell said.
  • Jennifer stood up and walked out of his office. As she got out of the company, she took an Uber and went home.
  • Even though Jennifer has her own car, she takes Uber frequently now, just so, Mr. Scott and the workers at the new company won’t know she has money.
  • As she got home, she went into the house, Lindsey was blasting loud music in the living room, Jennifer walked into the living room, but Lindsey was not in the living room, so she went into the kitchen, As she got in, Lindsey was cooking in the kitchen,
  • "Lindsey! Why are you blasting loud music in the house? Do you want our neighbors to report us to the police," Jennifer complained.
  • "Come on, I was just getting some motivation from the music," Lindsey replied.
  • Jennifer walked out of the kitchen and went into the living room. She turned off the music, and went back into the kitchen,
  • "How did your meeting with Mr. Rockwell go?" Lindsey asked. She was focused on the pot on the fire in front of her.
  • "It went great, he was happy with the information I gave him," She responded.
  • "That’s great," Lindsey said as she continued cooking.

  • Two days later, at Garcia Artistic Empire, Jennifer was at her cubicle preparing some documents for Mrs. Campbell when Scott stormed into the staff office with a piece of paper in his hand.
  • "Everyone leave what you are doing and pay attention to what I am about to say!" he yelled.
  • The office went quiet,
  • "Look here, one of our top clients, Mr. Satoshi, just left us this morning. He said he now buys his artworks from Rockwell Art Enterprises,
  • "Does anyone here know how the owner of Rockwell might have gotten the information that we were selling artwork to Mr. Satoshi?" Scott said, cleaning his fist, as he used the other hand to hold the piece of paper up.
  • No one responded to what he said.
  • "Alright, if you guys are ready to tell me how the owner of Rockwell got a hold of that information, I will be in my office," Scott declared as he walked out of the staff's office.
  • Jennifer, on the other hand, was thinking to herself, Mr. Rockwell has collected one of his clients already. That is a smart move, Mr. Scott should wait till Mr. Rockwell takes all his top clients from him.
  • Jennifer faced her computer and continued with the work Mrs. Campbell gave her to do.
  • Meanwhile, in Scotts' office, Scott was burning with anger. He carried his landline and called Mrs. Campbell,
  • "Come to my office now!" he screamed with his eyebrows twisted together.
  • "Okay sir," she replied.
  • He dropped the phone. Minutes later, Mrs. Campbell walked into his office,
  • "What do you need sir?" She asked, standing in front of Scott.
  • "Hope you are right about what you told me earlier?" He responded.
  • "Yes sir, I am positive having Mr. Satoshi as our client is not public knowledge. Someone might have given the information to Mr. Rockwell," she replied.
  • "Okay, I will look more into it, because all the staff didn't say anything," he said.
