Chapter 6
- Caspian had just finished enjoying his sexual escapade with Mitchell, who had paid him a surprise visit. They had a great moment together, and immediately after Harrison's call ended, tension-filled Caspian wondered what the issue might be. He immediately started dressing up.
- "Hi, what's the issue? Why are you rushing to dress?" Mitchell, covered with a duvet, asked as she sat upright on the bed, watching Caspian dress.
- "It's an urgent call from my dad! He sounded disturbed. He asked me to meet him at the hospital right away! I need to go; I'll be back shortly!" Caspian explained.
- "Oh! I am so sorry about that! Let me just come with you, please," Mitchell pleaded. Hearing that, Caspian immediately halted his dressing and rejected Mitchell's proposal, staring intensely into her eyes.
- "Oh, no! You can't. Like I said, it's an emergency!" Caspian said. His father mustn't see him with another woman, at least not yet. He planned on divorcing Aurora once his father eventually went on the vacation he was planning. And Mitchell would definitely know he was married once his father saw them together.
- "I will just quickly go and come back!" he said, walking over to Mitchell and giving her a sweet kiss on the lips.
- "It's fine! Drive safely, please," Mitchell said and nodded in agreement as she watched Caspian knot his tie and adjust his clothes.
- "I will be right back," he said, squeezing her lips against his, and then walked out of the hotel room where he had lodged Mitchell.
- Soon after a 30-minute drive, Caspian arrived at WillBrook Hospital. Just then, his father's call came in again; it was the third time he had called. Harrison was tired of waiting as he had many things to do. Still, he had paused everything just to confirm the reason for Caspian and Aurora's childlessness, oblivious to the fact that they hadn't had any form of sexual intercourse.
- "Son, where are you?" Harrison's voice echoed firmly in Caspian's right ear.
- "Yes, Dad, I am right in front of WillBrook Hospital. I am here already," Caspian replied.
- "Good, locate Dr. Edward's office!" Harrison said in a firm tone as the call ended.
- Caspian immediately turned off his car ignition, stopped, and parked in the hospital car park. He brought out a plain white handkerchief and wiped his face, staring into the car's mirror to ensure he looked presentable. He stepped out of the car and walked confidently to the reception. Seeing him, Jane melted into pieces. She had seen him on television many times and was astounded by how handsome he was.
- "Oh, my goodness! This is CEO Caspian; he looks incredibly handsome!" Jane exclaimed as she saw Caspian walk into the reception.
- "Welcome to WillBrook Medical Center. How may I assist you, sir?" Jane greeted Caspian with a beaming smile, unaware that he was the husband of the woman she had treated disdainfully some minutes earlier.
- "Yes, please. I am here to see Dr. Edward," Caspian said with utmost pride. Without reaching out to Dr. Edward to confirm if he was expecting a visitor, Jane immediately offered to take Caspian to Dr. Edward's office.
- "Please, follow me, sir," Jane responded with an outstanding smile.
- Within seconds, they reached Dr. Edward's office, and Jane hit the doorbell, ushering in Caspian as the Italian iron-designed door glided open slowly.
- "Thank you!" Caspian entered and couldn't believe his father was seated comfortably without any sign of distress. He stood still, watching Aurora seated boldly on the chair beside his father. He detested the fact that his father loved Aurora, which was the exact reason he had forced him to marry her.
- "Oh, son! It's a good thing you are here! Take a look at this!" Without giving Caspian a chance to exchange greetings with anyone, Harrison stretched out the result of Aurora's test to him.
- "Oh! All negative? Then what could be the issue?" Caspian exclaimed, asking rhetorical questions. Aurora couldn't believe that Caspian wasn't only heartless but also a great pretender, with the unprecedented expression displayed on his face.
- "What the heck! He acts like we have had sexual intercourse!" Aurora thought, but she grinned as she had more wicked plans for him.
- "Yes! She is a hundred percent alright! You need to carry out the test as well, immediately, to find out where the issue lies!" Harrison said firmly, his tone bonded with finality. Hearing this, Caspian burst into laughter and giggled hard. He couldn't believe his father might think something was wrong with him. Harrison, Dr. Edward, and Aurora gawked at him in disbelief. Aurora was in shock as she had never seen Caspian laugh so hard. She thought he should laugh more often because he looked more handsome when he laughed compared to when he frowned. She gawked more at Caspian's unprecedented laughter.
- "Come on, Dad! This is ridiculous. I will take the test to cure your curiosity and show that I am a hundred percent alright, and we will have a child when the right time comes," Caspian eventually blurted out amid his laughter. Although he was annoyed that the frivolous test had disrupted his pleasurable moments with Mitchell, he couldn't wait to finish up and return to the hotel where they were staying.
- "You think it's funny, son? We shall see. Dr. Edward, please, let's be fast about it! I have things to attend to!" Harrison beckoned to Dr. Edward, who was lost in extreme thought, especially about Aurora's request. If he didn't comply, he would lose his job and any connections he had. He knew how influential the Seraphine Well empire was and that he could be destroyed within minutes.
- "Yes, sir," Dr. Edward replied to Harrison, then turned to Caspian, who hadn't been able to greet him since he entered.
- "You are welcome, Mr. Caspian. It's so good to have you here. Could you please come and have a seat?" Dr. Edward greeted, inviting Caspian to sit. Caspian wasn't in the mood to sit; he just wanted everything done as fast as possible so he could leave to meet Mitchell.
- "Thank you, Dr. Edward. Could we please get the test done as soon as possible?" Caspian asked, feeling impatient.
- "Alright, please come with me," Dr. Edward said as he led Caspian to the testing room.
- After about 10 minutes, Caspian's blood sample was taken, and he came out as they all awaited the result.
- After about fifteen minutes, Dr. Edward came out with the result and stretched it out to Caspian.
- "Please, give it to me!" Harrison demanded while Caspian burst into laughter. He was sure there was nothing wrong with him and couldn't believe why his father was so insecure about him. He kept laughing as Dr. Edward handed the result to Harrison. Dr. Edward was filled with extreme fear and anxiety, hoping that what he had done wouldn't jeopardize the career he had built over several years. There was extreme shock and disbelief in Harrison's eyes as he opened the result.
