- It was an exhausting trip back to Umber Valley, but Alinta felt somewhat relieved to return to a familiar place as the car entered the forest. She anxiously glanced at a turn they had missed and was about to point it out when Bellinor's voice sounded.
- "Oh no, my darling. You are my mate, and I am your home now," Bellinor hummed affectionately, looking at her with a salacious glint in his eyes, his excitement bubbling over in anticipation of Draven's promise.
- Alinta felt conflicted. Her heart fluttered at his words, but she desperately wanted to return to her cabin; she needed space from Bellinor. His presence had become suffocating. Despite her attempts to distance herself, Bellinor's intense gaze made her feel as though his orbs were caressing her no matter where they landed. Every time she looked into his eyes, her cheeks burned with shyness, and that strange lingering feeling she'd experienced since her dream only intensified.
