Chapter 23 Going Up Then Downhill
- Alinta made her way to the elevator. As the doors closed, she glanced behind her and saw the man from the restaurant earlier. He looked like the living dead; his skin was grey with a purplish undertone, and his wide-open eyes stared intensely at her. Alinta felt a surge of fear at his presence, but when she noticed blood running from his nose, she asked, concerned, "Hey, are you okay, sir?"
- The man continued to gaze at her with a vehement look and took a step forward. "You are breathtaking," he said in a deranged whisper.
- "You're bleeding from your nose; you need medical attention," Alinta replied, backing away slightly. The man kept his gaze fixed on her as if trying to bore holes through her with his eyes. Alinta turned her attention back to the elevator numbers, which had only reached the fifth floor.
