Chapter 24 Big Scare

• "Ange!" Alinta shouted as she saw her wolf lying on her side in the dirt, whimpering and her muscles twitching from pain. Alinta rushed to Angela's unresponsive body and pulled her head to her lap as she assessed her injuries, but there were none visible. Angela's stiffening body is not a good sign and Alinta became frightened.
• “Ange, please tell me what is wrong!” Alinta cried, panic gripping her heart. “Why couldn’t I sense you or feel your pain? What did that man do to you? Did you catch his disease when you bit him?” Tears streamed down her face as she cradled her large wolf, who seemed to quiet her whimpers. Yet, her breathing quickened, as if she were struggling to get oxygen. “Angela, please! What can I do to help?” Alinta screamed, dread overwhelming her. She wept while clinging to her wolf, softly stroking her silky coat and kissing her face.
• "You are not leaving me!" Alinta looked to the sky and screamed, "I swear to the fucking Divinities, if I lose my only sanity and sister, I will fucking rebuke you until I cease to exist!" Suddenly Angela's body became supple and she released a long sigh through her nose. Alinta held her breath as she fearfully observed her wolf.
