Chapter 4 Lavette Residence

  • Memories, both minor and significant, resurfaced in vivid clarity, causing a faint smile to play on Timothy's lips, as though his parents, sister, and Lilian were right there beside him.
  • He set down the canvas bag, took a seat at the flowerbed's edge, and lit a cigarette, taking a slow drag.
  • Timothy's face was a canvas of emotions, shifting like a chameleon, displaying sorrow, joy, anger, and contemplation.
  • Suddenly, the ringing phone in his pocket disrupted his reverie. He glanced at the caller ID—Martha, his loyal subordinate.
  • "Master, the patriarch of the Dempsey Family has been admitted to the hospital. Should we proceed with eliminating the rest of the family?"
  • "No, spare them. There are fates worse than death. Prepare some items and meet me at my family's gravesite."
  • Timothy had returned with one goal—to exact a hundredfold, a thousandfold retribution for past grievances. No one involved would escape his wrath.
  • "Understood, Master!" Martha acknowledged and added, "Also, we've located the family of William Scott, the security guard who aided you. They reside in Glory Residence. I'll forward the details to you now."
  • "Excellent."
  • Moments later, Timothy received the information on his phone, meticulously detailing the profiles and photos.
  • He scrutinized the information, his brow furrowing slightly.
  • "Queenie Scott, female, twenty years old, originally from a small village in Soutindale, moved to Aldovia six years ago, currently residing in Glory Residence..."
  • Timothy absorbed the information, his understanding deepening.
  • Queenie had come to Aldovia with her father to find her mother. They had located Alice Coober, Queenie's mother, but were heartlessly turned away, as Alice feared their presence would tarnish her newfound wealth.
  • A derisive smile tugged at Timothy's lips. She's just a woman who abandoned her family while my benefactor stays in Aldovia, working as a hotel security guard, hoping to win her back. It's truly pitiful and lamentable!
  • Yet, Timothy would not stand by. With William gone, Queenie was alone. This burden was now Timothy's to bear.
  • Upon reaching the entrance, no one impeded him, allowing Timothy to seamlessly enter Lavette Residence.
  • This was Timothy's childhood home; everything was familiar. His objective was clear, so he headed straight to the inner courtyard, to his great-grandpa Kevin Lavette's room.
  • At that moment, an elderly butler of the Lavette Family crossed his path. Seeing Timothy in casual attire, the butler's eyes widened. He rubbed his eyes vigorously to ensure he wasn't mistaken.
  • "M-Mr. Timothy?" The butler, stunned, refrained from approaching Timothy. Instead, he immediately called Hector Lavette, the current acting head of the Lavette Family and Timothy's uncle.
  • Hector was incredulous upon hearing of Timothy's return. "How can that be? Are you sure? That scoundrel was sentenced to life imprisonment. How could he be at the Lavette Family residence? What is going on?"
  • "I'm certain, sir. It's truly Timothy. I've seen these children grow up in the Lavette Family; there's no mistaking them."
  • Hector clutched his phone tightly, refusing to set it down, and began pacing the length of the hall with mounting anxiety.
  • With Timothy incarcerated, Connor Lavette, the most promising child of the Lavette Family, had been groomed to take over as the next family head. However, Timothy's unexpected reappearance threatened to upend these plans.
  • In recent years, Kevin's declining health had necessitated that his dad manage the family affairs. Yet, Kevin's deep affection for Timothy raised concerns that Timothy might easily reclaim his position, jeopardizing Connor's future.
  • After a moment of contemplation, Hector decisively instructed the butler, "Assemble a dozen security personnel and wait for me in the outer courtyard. I'll join you shortly!"
  • "Yes, sir!" the butler responded promptly.
  • Hector pocketed his phone and, with a grave expression, exited the hall, making his way to the outer courtyard.
  • Unaware of the scrutiny he was under, Timothy continued his walk with an air of indifference.
  • Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps filled the air. Timothy glanced up to see a group of men approaching and quickly grasped the situation.
  • "Timothy, you audacious scoundrel! How dare you return?" Hector's voice echoed through the space before he even reached Timothy, his expression dark and menacing.
  • "I'm here to visit my great-grandpa!" Timothy's tone remained calm, unfazed by Hector's hostility and insults.
  • "Hah, see great-grandpa? Are you trying to provoke him into an early grave? Four years ago, your actions caused enormous trouble and losses for the Lavette Family. I'm giving you one chance to leave now, or don't blame me for turning against you!"
  • "If you want to turn against me, go ahead; I'm not stopping you!"
  • Timothy dismissed Hector's threats, casting a brief glance at the security personnel before continuing his walk.
  • "What an arrogant fool! Seize him and throw him out! He must not set foot in the Lavette Residence again!" Enraged by Timothy's defiance, Hector issued an immediate order.
  • The team of security personnel braced themselves, muscles taut as if confronting a daunting foe, their gazes locked onto Timothy's every movement, poised to spring into action at a moment's notice.
  • Having served as the Lavette Family's security for years, they were acutely aware of Timothy's military pedigree and formidable skills, which filled them with a sense of trepidation about engaging him directly.
  • Nevertheless, with the acting head's command ringing in their ears, they were compelled to act. The security team advanced with determination, encircling Timothy and rapidly constricting their formation.
  • Their ranks swelled, creating a barrier so impenetrable that even the smallest creature would struggle to find a way through.
  • Timothy stood resolute, his demeanor unshaken and serene.
  • "Seize him and expel him!" Hector commanded.
  • To Hector, Timothy appeared like a cornered animal, entirely devoid of any threat to his authority.
