• Martha saw all of it. She could’ve gone in right away and taken Queenie, but she paused. She wanted to see how Queenie would handle it. People need to grow up sometime. She couldn’t live under Timothy Lavette’s wing forever.
• If Queenie could fix it herself, Martha wouldn’t step in. If she couldn’t, Martha would jump in fast and make sure Queenie didn’t get hurt. Most important, Queenie would remember this and wouldn’t make the same mistake again.
