Chapter 5 A Message

  • Thud!
  • A heavy thump echoed through the air as a security officer stationed in front of Timothy suddenly bent over like a pretzel, akin to a projectile that had been launched. He spiraled backward, colliding with the other security personnel positioned behind him!
  • In an instant, the crowd was frozen in disbelief!
  • Timothy's agility was astounding, so blindingly fast that onlookers couldn't comprehend how he had delivered the blow, and within moments, a wave of darkness consumed them as they fell to the ground!
  • "You..." Hector was equally taken aback by the spectacle; Timothy was a shadow of the boy he once knew, transformed into a figure of fierce determination.
  • While Hector had distinguished himself in the military, he had never exhibited such an exaggerated display of power.
  • In just a few heartbeats, the security team found themselves nearly incapacitated; those who managed to regain their footing dared not approach Timothy again!
  • Timothy advanced resolutely, ignoring everyone else, and made his way toward the inner courtyard where Kevin lived.
  • Hector could only grind his teeth in frustration, powerless to impede Timothy. The man before him was unrecognizable, and all he could do was watch helplessly as Timothy moved toward Kevin's room.
  • The path ahead was unobstructed, mostly populated by the servants of the Lavette Family, without a sight of the family's immediate members.
  • Upon reaching Kevin's place and noticing the door firmly shut, Timothy paused.
  • "Who are you? Timothy?" A middle-aged man jogged toward him after scrutinizing him for a few moments.
  • "Mr. Grant!" Timothy acknowledged him.
  • This man was Simon Grant, Kevin's most trusted confidant and secretary.
  • "You've come back? You truly have returned?" Simon placed his hands on Timothy's shoulders, inspecting him with genuine surprise, though a warm smile graced his face.
  • "Yes!" Timothy nodded affirmatively. "I-I wish to see my great-grandpa..."
  • However, Simon immediately shook his head. "Old Mr. Lavette just went to sleep; it may not be the best time. You know, Old Mr. Lavette is quite advanced in age and suffers from poor sleep..."
  • "Then I'll return later. Mr. Grant, please keep an eye on him!" Timothy replied, glancing at Kevin's closed door and gesturing to Simon before departing.
  • Timothy made no delay; the only member of the Lavette Family that held his concern was Kevin. Aside from Kevin, there was only his third uncle's family; everyone else was unworthy of his attention or visits!
  • As Timothy exited the Lavette Residence, Hector released a breath of relief, seeing that Timothy had not encountered Kevin. Thus, his son's position would remain intact!
  • Reflecting on this, Hector's demeanor darkened, his fists clenched in frustration. Yet, within moments, he disseminated the news of Timothy's return to the entire Lavette Family, even informing his dad, Timothy's grandpa.
  • His intent was not to welcome Timothy but to rally those who already bore grievances against him, urging them to unite and completely expel Timothy from their home!
  • Once outside the Lavette Residence, Timothy swiftly hailed a cab and set off for Memorial Cemetery on the outskirts of Aldovia!
  • This was the final resting place of his parents, as well as the location selected by Lilian.
  • Throughout the journey, Timothy felt a deep sense of melancholy; as a son, the inability to honor his parents was a profound heartache!
  • At the cemetery, Timothy's subordinates awaited him, standing in two neat rows, with a profusion of calla lilies placed in between!
  • As Timothy made his entrance, his subordinates subtly distanced themselves, hesitant to intrude upon him and his kin.
  • Timothy knelt solemnly at the grave, his silence profound, for he did not engage in the extensive dialogue with his family that others expected; he remained there, in quiet contemplation.
  • The hours slipped away swiftly; after a full sixty minutes, Timothy finally bowed his head three times in reverence, then rose and proceeded toward the cemetery steps.
  • Witnessing Timothy's exhausted countenance, his subordinates experienced a wave of anguish within!
  • In their eyes, Timothy embodied the revered Primordial Master, unmatched in combat prowess, yet now he seemed helpless.
  • "Master, what should we do next? Shall we confront those families? I will certainly exact retribution on those scoundrels!" Tobias, characterized by his impulsiveness, was eager to embark on a merciless quest for vengeance on behalf of Timothy's family.
  • Timothy merely shook his head. "Tobias, Todd, and Mashal, you must lay low for the time being; Martha will be on standby!"
  • Tobias was momentarily stunned but restrained himself from further comment, dutifully acquiescing to the command!
  • "Return for now; I'll visit Lavette Residence to see my great-grandpa!"
  • Timothy's tone was gentle, as if he had yet to shake off the melancholy of his earlier solemnity at the grave!
  • After departing from the cemetery, Timothy summoned a cab and swiftly returned to Lavette Residence.
  • ...
  • At Aldovia Airport, Lilian and Noreen had just stepped off their flight and were navigating through the terminal.
  • Lilian, devoid of makeup, donned a sleek black trench coat complemented by straight-leg trousers and elegant high heels—simple yet refined.
  • Despite her lack of cosmetics and elaborate clothing, she exuded a captivating aura that drew the attention of everyone in the vicinity, especially the men.
  • Under such circumstances, Noreen felt nearly invisible beside her.
  • "Lilian, that man ahead appears to be Connor from the Lavette Family!" Noreen indicated a man in their path.
  • Lilian refrained from glancing over; her mind was consumed with thoughts of Timothy, leaving little room to acknowledge anyone else.
  • Connor strode confidently, hands empty, posture erect, and his gait steady and assured, radiating the air of a leader on a mission.
  • Following closely was a man, Connor's secretary, who carried a briefcase and a water bottle, intentionally trailing Connor by a step while slightly leaning forward.
  • Connor had received a message from his dad regarding Timothy's return, prompting his swift return.
