• She hugged me for what felt like minutes before finally releasing me, her hands lingering on my waist as she explored my face. "You are so damn pretty," she said, her gaze switching to Henry, who stared down, sucking his lower lip hungrily.
• "Son, you've waited a long time to meet your mate. I'm glad the moon goddess blessed you with a beautiful one," she complimented, her eyes shining with happiness. I could see how thrilled she was, and how unhappy Henry was. She must have been eagerly anticipating meeting her son's mate, unaware that her son was a jerk who had rejected me without a second thought.
• "Mum," Henry raised his head, but his mother wasn't looking at him. She only raised her brows, her gaze fixed on me. I tried my best to put on a smile to satisfy her gaze.
