• I had contemplated over and over whether I should kill Matteo or not but something kept holding me back and it was the words of Irena as I went to Jamaica. I didn’t want her to worry and I found myself holding back a lot because I wanted to be a better person. The thought of coming back to a house where she was absent never occurred to me.
• It was even crazier that I didn’t know why she left. It felt like a dream. I kept reading the letter she left over and over but nothing got registered in my brain. My world was suddenly empty and she didn’t specify the exact reason why she left.
